Transitional Housing offered at Elijah Family Homes

Eligibility

Serves low-income families who are unable to obtain stable housing for reasons other than income, such as past criminal offenses which were a direct result of drug and/ or alcohol addiction. Must have been sober for at least nine months before starting the program. Must be at or below 50% of the Area Median Income.

M-F, 9am-4pm.

Fees

Tenant's share of the rent will be a minimum of $100 + utilities. Their actual share of the rent is calculated so that rent and utilities do not exceed 30% of the participant’s adjusted household income.

Payment Options

Provides families with safe, stable, affordable housing and supportive services for up to three years. Program currently has a wait list. Tenants must:
  • Regularly document how they are taking steps to handle their financial responsibilities using available resources.
  • Obtain employment or be on a track to obtain employment if not disabled.
  • Attend regular tenant meetings, along with providing emotional support to other tenants.
  • Attend and document at least one 12-Step or comparable “recovery” meeting per week.
