Description
Issues and renews King County pet licenses. Administers animal control ordinances in King County and animal rescue service and adoption and recovery services. Animal services are categorized in three parts: 1. Field services: - Operates a call center to dispatch animal control officers for the collection and delivery of animals to the Kent shelter (or other shelters included in contract). 2. Shelter Services: - provides general care, cleaning, medical care and nourishment of owner-released, lost or stray animals in preparation for returning those animals to their guardians or placing them in new homes. 3. Licensing services: - Provides the operation and maintenance of a unified system to license pets in contracting cities. RASKC licenses over 100,000 cats and dogs each year.
