Provides free, temporary boarding for pets while families who have been displaced seek shelter at venues that do not accept pets; allowing pets to be safely cared for without needing to be surrendered. Also currently on-site at the Spokane Convention Center and the Shadle Park High School Disaster Assistance Center, in alliance with the Red Cross, providing animal care, assorted pet food and supplies, and crate cleaning. Pets that have been separated from their owners/injured due to the wildfires are being held and provided emergency medical care as needed. Displaced animals are being held on an extended time basis, ensuring owners have a chance to reclaim them. When fire evacuation site re-open, will provide pet owners and community animal trappers with loaner traps, bait food, and other supplies to secure strays and lost pets. Offers pet cremation assistance to owners who have lost an animal due to catastrophic injuries sustained during the fire.
