Description

Distributes free smoke alarms and CO alarms with batteries to area residents in need if they are available to the department. The fire department will install alarms for those who are unable to do so themselves. Fall Prevention Educators may visit homes to do a safety survey. They provide education on the reasons why falls happen and give ideas on how to reduce injuries at home. They may also install risk reduction devices and provide information and training on fall prevention. Educators may provide trainings on fire extinguisher use, disaster preparedness, and general fire prevention information.
