Offers those receiving public assistance programs subsidized Internet service through Comcast. No credit checks; no term contract; no installation fee; speeds of up to 50 Mbps.   Participants may also purchase a computer at a subsidized price at initial enrollment and will be eligible for free Internet training - online, in print and in person.

Internet Essentials current rate is $9. 95/mo. (subject to change). Taxes extra. Pricing subject to change. Advertised price applies to a single outlet. Actual speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Clients receive 1224 GB of usage per month. If exceeded, increments of 50 GM for an additional $10 is added up to $100. 00 max per month. Client has the option to sign up for limited data which costs $25. 00 in addition to the $9. 95 per month. No activation fees and no equipment rental fees. Computer: $149. 99 plus tax.

Required documents

Supporting documentation may be required to verify participation in public assistance programs. This may include: - Medicaid: card or most recent eligibility letter for an adult in your household. - Public housing assistance: documentation such as your lease, housing assistance payment (HAP) contract or eligibility documentation from HUD. - Basic Food/SNAP: letter indicating you are approved for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits. - TANF: eligibility letter for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families - SSI: eligibility letter for Supplemental Security Income - NSLP/Head Start: copy of a letter indicating current participation in the National School Lunch Program or Head Start, with your child's name, the school name, and the address of where you are requesting service. - LIHEAP: letter confirming your eligibility for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. - WIC: eligibility letter for the Women, Infants and Children program. - VA Pension: veterans pension eligibility determination letter from the Veterans Administration. - Tribal assistance: eligibility letter, including TTANF, FDPIR, etc.

Eligibility

Those who do not have outstanding debt to Comcast less than one year old and who live in an area where Comcast service is available, but have not subscribed to it within the last 90 days. Must also be receiving or eligible for public assistance with income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, including the following: - Medicaid - HUD housing assistance, such as public housing, Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8 Vouchers) or Multifamily Vouchers (Project-Based Section 8) - Basic Food (SNAP) - TANF - SSI - National School Lunch Program or Head Start - LIHEAP - WIC - VA Pension - Tribal assistance
