Eastside Men's Shelter offered by PorchLight on Eastgate Way

Provides shelter for single adult men. Offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Men sleep in bunk beds. Services for clients also include showers, washer, dryer, case management, housing navigation, employment services, and a small storage locker. No limit to length of stay as long as client is at the shelter by curfew each night. Those with severe medical vulnerabilities may be housed in a nearby motel, where they will be provided meals and access to all supportive services.

Intake daily, 5am-7pm or until beds are full. First come first served. Shelter curfew is at 10pm.

Application process

Sign up at the Day Center for a bed that evening. Beds are on a first-come, first-served basis, with few available for new intake each night. Priority is given to those who stayed at the shelter the night before. Early signup recommended. Clients may call with questions or for additional information.

Eligibility

Male-identifying, ages 18 and older, who are in need of shelter. Service animals allowed. No pets. Shelter is accessible to those with wheelchairs or other mobility devices, but guests must be self-sufficient and able to transfer without assistance. Accepts men with criminal offenses including sexual offenses and arson on a case by case basis.

Operates a rotating congregation-based shelter program for men on the Eastside as well as a year round shelter for up to 100 men. Offers case management, as well as follow-up services. Also operates a day center for homeless men on the Eastside that additionally provides meals and clothing.
