Transportation is available for most Head Start and ECEAP locations.
Eligibility
Private and public schools, educators and families. Head Start programs serve families with low incomes and children with disabilities and low-income children, ages 3 through 4. Early Head Start programs serve families with low incomes who are pregnant and have children birth to age 3. 90%of the program's enrollment is reserved for families whose income is at or below the poverty level, while 10% is available to children facing other challenges. Serves King and Pierce Counties.

Administers federally funded early learning programs which provide comprehensive early childhood education experiences such as:
  • assessment and planning,
  • child social and educational growth,
  • child and family health and nutrition services,
  • workshops,
  • classes,
  • involvement opportunities for parents and
  • information and referral to community resources.
Each site's services reflect the ethnicity and culture of the community. Children with disabilities receive all services above, plus coordination of services and individualized education programs.
