Children's Domestic Violence Program offered by Suburban King County YWCA in South King County

Eligibility

Children, ages 3-13, who have witnessed domestic violence, are living in a safe place (where the abuser is not in the home), and are residents of South King County.

Hours

M-F, 9am-5pm.

Application process

Call screener. Referrals may come from many avenues, including self-referrals by parents.

Teaches safety plans, conflict resolution skills and self-care methods to children who have witnessed domestic violence through a 10-week program of educational in-home, one-on-one counseling.

Providing organization

Suburban King County YWCA in South King County
Provides advocacy-based counseling and support groups for domestic violence victims as well as counseling for children who have witnessed domestic violence. Provides job readiness training and case management for those who are homeless or are at risk of losing their homes. Career development center at Greenbridge provides job search assistance to all South King County residents with a specialized program for young adults and classes teaching computer basics needed for office jobs.
