Meals On Wheels offered at Senior Services for South Sound
Provides up to one meal per day may, either fresh or frozen depending on distance from serving site. All weekend and holiday meals are frozen. Meals meet one-third of the Department of Agriculture's Recommended Daily Allowance. They are low in sodium and special dietary needs may be accommodated. Participants choose how many meals they would like to receive each week and can cancel the service at any time. Those who do not meet the program requirements may still receive home-delivered meals by paying the full price of each delivered meal. This cost is inclusive of delivery as well as a loaf of bread and a half-gallon of milk each week.

Call for an initial screening, then an assessor will come to the home to fill out detailed paperwork with the client.
Fee
Suggested donation for a meal is $4-$8, but it is not required. Those not eligible for the program can still receive meals for the full price of $9.50 per meal.
Eligibility
To be eligible, one must: - Live in Thurston or Mason County - Be age 60 or older - No longer be able to cook, or lack someone to cook, and cannot leave home unassisted.
