Eligibility

Washington state residents who are at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level and who have a nutrition risk. Must be:
  • Pregnant
  • Postpartum parents or breast and chest feeding parents
  • Infants or children under age 5
Applicants are income-eligible if they receive Basic Food benefits, WA Apple Health (Medicaid), or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

Helps improve the health of low-income pregnant people, new parents, infants, and young children through:
  • Nutrition education
  • Breast and chest feeding support
  • Healthy foods
  • Health screenings and referrals
Participants receive benefits through an electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card that can be used at authorized grocery stores to purchase approved foods such as milk, eggs, cereal, fruits, and vegetables. Monthly food benefits vary by participant type and household size but are valued at approximately $150 for a family of two per month. Provides extra foods for those breast and chest feeding, as well as iron-fortified formula for non-breastfed babies. Farmers Market Nutrition Program Participants can receive additional seasonal produce vouchers to buy local, unprocessed fruits and vegetables at authorized farmers markets. WIC staff can only apply farmers market benefits to adults who are listed on the WIC account. Online Ordering Washington WIC shoppers can order eligible foods online from Walmart for delivery or free pick-up. WIC does not cover delivery and shipment fees. Not all addresses are eligible for delivery.
