Do you or someone you care about struggle with opioid use? There is an alternative to painful detoxing and constant cravings for people to get their lives back. There are medications that will replace the physical need for opioids without the negative side effects, allowing the person to rebuild any damage in their lives from substance abuse. Medications are a proven way to transfer the physical dependence from a destructive substance to one that can be managed and allows for the restoration of a person’s life. This treatment breaks a dangerous cycle, replacing it with a simple treatment that is significantly safer. Our services go beyond medications. By partnering with other agencies, we use a holistic care approach by finding programs and resources to design a custom recovery plan for patients in need. The abuse of opioids damages a person’s body, hindering its ability to correctly work which causes physical dependency on the drugs. Most opioids require an ever-increasing dose which becomes a dangerous situation. The medicines used in MAT treatments are an opioid derivative that satisfies the physical dependency without the negative side-effects or need to increase dosage. This allows a person to regain their life by dealing with their dependency for what it truly has become, a chronic condition like asthma or diabetes. Many people find that they can slowly reduce the dosage, eventually leading to the point of no longer needing medication. At our clinic we can use several medications to treat opioids, however, recognized best practices recommend the use of “Suboxone” (Buprenorphine & Naloxone). Because this is the recognized best practice, we recommend it over the alternatives unless there are reasons other medications with be more beneficial.
