Description

Distributes funding to enrolled HEN clients who qualify as homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Allowable financial assistance for housing may include monthly rent, overdue rent, security deposit, and service animal deposits. Utilities assistance is limited to electricity, natural gas, sewer, water, garbage, and utility deposits. Essential Needs assistance includes help with obtaining personal health and hygiene items (such as toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper), cleaning supplies (such as laundry and dish soap), and bus passes.  Assistance cannot be provided through gift cards, vouchers, or certificates.  All HEN clients are eligible to receive essential needs assistance.

A non-profit organization formed in 1965 to combat poverty in Okanogan County, Washington, through education, empowerment, and engagement, offering extensive programs like emergency shelter, food assistance (both operating the Okanogan County Food Bank, Okanogan Food Pantry and is the Lead Agency for 8 other Food Pantries across Okanogan County), energy/utility help, weatherization, job training, senior/disability services, and support for veterans and homeless youth, aiming to provide both immediate relief and pathways to self-sufficiency for low-income residents.
