Supports a network of more than 100 neighborhood groups in Washington, 60 in King County that bring together children, their parents and caregivers (grandparents, aunts, neighbors, friends and others). During the group, children and adults engage in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, physical play and circle time and learn about:
  • Activities they can do at home to support children's learning
  • Turning everyday activities- such grocery shopping, cooking and bath time- into early learning opportunities
  • Child development from birth to 5
  • Skills children are expected to have when they start school
  • Community programs and services available to help them raise healthy children
Some groups are multi-lingual.

Providing organization
BrightSpark Early Learning Services
Provides early learning and child care information as well as child care subsidies for families across King County. Caregiver programs provide child care development and early learning information and support. Provides technical and educational assistance to licensed child care professionals in King and Pierce counties. Early Head Start program is a family-centered, comprehensive program for low income families, tailored to the unique needs of infants and toddlers.
