Provides homeless families in Spokane County with a centralized point of entry to access housing resources. Families first meet with a Coordinated Entry Specialist, who first determines if a family’s housing crisis can be resolved outside of the formalized homeless response system. If Diversion is not a good fit to meet the household’s needs, a vulnerability assessment is used to pre-screen their eligibility for services. Once screened, the family is placed in a priority pool. When a vacancy becomes available, households in the pool are connected directly to the housing resource. Does not provide families with immediate housing. Because homeless housing resources are limited, there is no guarantee of housing. Households are prioritized based on their barriers and vulnerabilities. Diversion Helps families identify housing options outside the formal homeless response system. Provides “light touch” case management that helps families to identify solutions to their housing crisis. Collaborates with households to help them avoid or resolve homelessness. Works with families for up to 30 days.

Provides a standardized access, assessment, and referral process for housing and other services, such as case management, housing stability plan, legal assistance, and referrals to emergency or permanent housing. Placement in a program is dependent on funding and program availability.

Provides various housing programs for families and individuals living in Asotin County. Offers Coordinated Entry, Homeless Diversion, and Housing and Essential Needs (HEN). - Coordinated entry is a process developed to ensure that all people experiencing a housing crisis have fair and equal access and are quickly identified, assessed for, referred, and connected to housing and assistance based on their strengths and needs. - Diversion is a fast paced, short-term case management program that can assist the individual/household(s) with solving problems and barriers by utilizing the existing strengths and resources of the individual/household(s). We can assist with limited flexible funding, based on eligibility, in order to assist the individual/household with obtaining permanent housing which can include relocation and other activities that support obtaining permanent. - Housing and Essential Needs Grant Funds can only be used to support HEN eligible clients that qualify as homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Allowable financial assistance for housing may include monthly rent, overdue rent, security deposit, and service animal deposits. Utilities assistance is limited to electricity, natural gas, sewer, water, garbage, and utility deposits. Essential Needs assistance includes help with obtaining personal health and hygiene items (such as toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper), cleaning supplies (such as laundry and dish soap), and bus passes.  Assistance cannot be provided through gift cards, vouchers, or certificates.  All HEN clients are eligible to receive essential needs assistance.

Collaborates with Northwest Justice Project and Central Washington Legal Aid to prioritize individuals with a current eviction letter. Limitations on arrears paid and funding availability. HEN Provides essential needs items and limited financial assistance for those who are low-income and not able to work for at least 90 days due to their physical and/or mental health. DSHS determines who qualifies for referral to the HEN program. Includes Rapid Rehousing and Homeless Diversion services. Can meet with households in Tacoma, Olympia or Bremerton.

This program provides community outreach, case management and a range of other services to help homeless Veterans get back on their feet. VBA counselors from the Regional Office visit with Veterans monthly to assist them with filing pensions and disability requests.
