The Housing Choice Voucher program (commonly known as Section 8) is a rent subsidy program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered by the Everett Housing Authority (EHA). The voucher program waiting list is only opened periodically. EHA will post information about current waiting list openings on its website. Applications are accepted online only.

Provides conventional low-income Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), and affordable apartments throughout the Benton and Franklin Counties. HACPFC has 280 housing units owned and maintained by the Housing Authority. Housing is federally subsidized for extremely low, very low-, and low-income populations. Affordable Apartments: Provides non-subsidized below market rate apartments available to those whose income is at 30% to 80% of area median income. Units are1 to 6 bedrooms.

Operates the tenant-based Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), which allows very low-income households to pay rent equal to 30-40% of monthly income, at units that participants select and rent independently from private landlords.   Seattle Housing Authority pays the remainder of each month's rent to the landlord. Applicants on the voucher list will be chosen at random when vouchers are available. The number of applicants selected in each drawing will vary, depending on the number of vouchers available. The chance of being drawn is the same no matter when households apply. Random selection ensures that all applicants have an equal chance of being drawn at any time. The open application opportunity will be available for families and individuals whenever they wish to apply. SHA will review eligibility and verify income at the time applicants are selected from the list. Applicants who meet the voucher program eligibility requirements and meet the program preferences will be served. Rent amounts are subject to HUD limits.   Each household must locate their own housing unit within 120 days of receipt of voucher.   SHA may grant extensions beyond 120 days, but household must reach out to their issuing Certification Specialist for more information and have their request submitted in writing before the 120-day expiration date. Once housing is located, Seattle Housing Authority then will accept self-certification of inspection from the Landlord of the unit to ensure that it is maintained in a decent, safe and sanitary condition. To remain on the list, applicants must also check in monthly using Save My Spot in the SHA Portal.

Offers a variety of affordable housing options throughout Walla Walla County for families, disabled, and elderly who are low income.   -  Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher: federally funded program which provides tenant based rental assistance to eligible families. Eligible families pay approximately 30-40% of their monthly adjusted gross income towards their tenant rent. -  Affordable Housing: rental units for households of very-low to moderate income who might not be able to locate suitable housing in the private rental market. Eligible families are offered a unit according to the necessary bedroom size of the family's composition. -  Tenant Based Rental Assistance: tenant based rental assistance to eligible families. Also assists eligible families with security and utility deposits. The target population is single homeless females and homeless families with children.

Provides affordable, tenant-based housing assistance for individuals who face barriers due to income, disability, or age. Assistance follows the tenant as long as they remain eligible.

WAIT LIST CLOSED Allows eligible applicants to qualify for a rental subsidy through the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Rent is based on 30% of household income. Applicants that qualify for the program will be put on a waiting list. Placement on the waiting list will be done by random drawing.

Provides housing opportunities and coordination of social services to assist low- and moderate-income households achieve economic self-sufficiency. Offers two rental assistance programs through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Department: Public Housing and the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher, which provides rental assistance in units throughout the community. Also manages two flat rent buildings with no assistance attached to them.

Provides rental subsidy housing for eligible low-income households in Asotin County. Has also implemented a local preference for the 5 surrounding counties.

Provides Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8).

Provides help to veterans in accessing VA and community services. Services may include short-term case management, onsite primary care, access to medical, mental health, and substance abuse treatment, and access to VA housing programs, including Grant and Per Diem program, HUD/VASH, Veterans Recovery House and Supportive Service for Veteran Families (SSVF) if found eligible. These grants do not provide immediate assistance, are sometimes one-time, and may include case management. Help with finding market rate or subsidized housing or linkage to community housing programs. Assistance with expediting VA Benefit claims and access to employment programs such as Supported Employment, Veterans Reintegration program, and State employment. Access to computers, clothing, and hygiene items is available onsite.

Offers a low-income apartments, seasonal farm worker housing, and special needs housing development, which includes: multi-family with farmworker preference and senior housing. The mission is to create and preserve decent housing for people with low income and special needs. Section 8 voucher and housing available.

## WAITING LIST CLOSED. Section 8 is a federally funded Housing Assistance Program that offers rental assistance (subsidy) for Elderly, Disabled and Single Families who qualify under the very low-income guidelines. The Housing Authority administers this program under the regulations and guidelines of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Housing Authority currently offers the Housing Choice Voucher Program which has been successful because it provides the participant with the opportunity to choose the type of rental unit and neighborhood that will meet their interests and needs.  Families may also take their housing assistance with them when they move which enables participants to pursue employment and educational opportunities, to be reunited with their friends and family, and to live in a better climate.

Administers 625 Housing Choice Vouchers. These vouchers are used to subsidize program participants’ lease payments for privately owned apartments and houses located within the Housing Authority’s service area. Agricultural workers can also submit applications for the USDA subsidized apartments and Low Income Housing Tax Credit projects. Owns and/or manages Burlington Terrace Apartments and Raspberry Ridge I & II Apartments in Burlington, and La Paloma Apartments, Mount Baker Meadows and President Apartments in Mount Vernon.

Provides vouchers that will cover a portion of a household's rent, and the household is responsible for the rest of the rent. Anyone can apply, but housing will be in the City of Tacoma. While using the voucher, households will receive assistance to connect with education, training and employment programs. Those on the waitlist will get an assigned number. Once a household gets to the top of the list, THA will check to make sure the household is still eligible. The home or apartment that they move in to will need to be inspected.

Provides low-income housing and rent subsidies for persons meeting income guidelines. The waiting lists are very long for both types of housing support (Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and housing for seniors and people with disabilities)—often five years or more. No emergency housing.

Provides subsidized rental housing for eligible households at several properties throughout Chelan and Douglas Counties. Some buildings are reserved specifically for seniors and/or adults with disabilities. Provides various programs to assist families and individuals struggling with housing. Programs include eviction prevention rent assistance, rental deposit, transitional housing, motel vouchers, Section 8 vouchers, and Housing Related Coordinated Entry.

Provides needed housing in the community to low-Income families, elderly, people with disabilities and working families in need of housing.  

Provides subsidized rental housing for eligible households, at several properties throughout Ellensburg and Kittitas. Also offers and maintains below market rate properties for income qualified families.

Vancouver Housing Authority (VHA) offers the Section 8 program and fields complaints about rental practices and properties. VHA offers two types of vouchers: - Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8): Provides assistance to very-low-income families, older adults, and persons needing special features or accommodations to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private rental market. Voucher holders may choose their own housing in the private rental market including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments that meet minimum standards of health and safety. - Project-Based Vouchers: Provides assistance for low-income households. The rental subsidy stays with the building/unit, and when a household relocates, the rental assistance ends.

Rent amounts are subject to HUD limits.   Each household must locate their own housing unit within 120 days of receipt of their voucher. If additional time is needed, household should contact their KCHA Housing Specialist before their deadline to ask about filing for an extension. Once housing is obtained, KCHA then inspects each unit to ensure that it is maintained in a decent, safe and sanitary condition. Waitlist lottery applications are currently closed as of Feb. 26, 2020. Typically opens every 2-3 years. Website lists what lottery numbers are currently being served.

This is a long term/permanent rental assistance program; there is no limit to length of subsidy as long as the program rules are followed and families remain income qualified. This program gives preference to households who are elderly, disabled and families with dependent children.

Provides rental subsidies for eligible low-income households to use for housing of their own choosing.   Units must be located within Renton, and must be inspected and approved by the Housing Authority.
