This service is available upon request and proof of eligibility to residential customers who are seniors (65+ years) OR who have been designated as disabled veterans by the VA and possess a VA disability rating letter or VA benefits summary letter.

Offers utility tax rebate to eligible low-income older adults and low-income people with disabilities in Federal Way.   Types of eligible utility bills include electric, gas, phone, garbage, cell phone and cable television.   Bills involving third party billing statements or Lakehaven Utility District are not accepted (because Lake Haven Utility District does not collect city tax).

Rebate of 5% City of Marysville taxes paid on PUD, Verizon, and PSE bills for low-income and disabled citizens.  Claims for tax rebate are made annually for the previous year and must be filed between January 2nd and February 28th of the new year.  Utility Tax Rebate forms can be printed from the website.  Proof of all qualifying utility taxes must be attached and submitted with form.

This program is for disabled adults or people age 62 or over who maintain their own primary residence and live in the districts area. Income restrictions apply.

Provides utility bill discounts for people 62 years of age, or over and earn less than $36,882 a year. Provides Utility bill discounts for the disabled who have proof of disability income at 125% or less of the poverty level.

Provides ongoing help with monthly energy bills. Depending on your household income and household size, residential customers can save 5% to 45% a month on their bills. Amount of discount is based on several factors: - Household’s income - Number of people in household - County of residence Eligible applicants will be placed in one of six discount tiers. Also provides help for paying existing electric or gas bills through the Home Energy Lifeline Program (HELP). Those who qualify may receive up to $1000 in credit to their account.

Offers a discount to eligible seniors and disabled individuals to help reduce the cost of the residents utility bill.

Customers accepted into this program pay a maximum monthly amount based on income and, in some cases, electricity use. It may exempt participants from paying security deposits and late charges. If eligible, monthly payment for electric service will be based on a percentage of household's monthly income, and electricity usage. Clients in this program will have no disconnection of service as long as monthly payments are made. After a year of payments on this program, any old balances will be removed (if a payment is missed clients are responsible for full balance).

Senior Citizen Rate Credits are based on billings made between January 1 and April 30 of the previous year. If you’re approved for Senior Citizen Rate Credits, a credit equal to 75 percent of the previous year’s winter bills (not to exceed $500 annually; excludes any additional meters) will be applied to your account balance.

Provides discount services on electric utility bill for low-income older adults over the age of 62 that live in Ferry County PUD's service area.

Monthly bill credits to help low-income households of Orcas Power & Light Cooperative. Members who receive other income-tested assistance can receive a monthly bill credit off their OPALCO bill. The amount of the credit varies on the size of the household.

Offers an annual Utility Tax Relief Program for low-Income Burien households.   This program helps offset the impact of the City’s utility tax on telephone (not including cellular), cable television, and gas/electricity provided by Puget Sound Energy and solid waste and garbage provided by Recology CleanScapes.   Electricity, gas, solid waste and garbage: -  On behalf of eligible applicants, the city of Burien will contact Puget Sound Energy and Recology CleanScapes and have them take the utility tax charge off future bills. -  Adjustments are not retroactive. This tax relief is for the following year.   Telephone (not including cellular) and cable television:   -  Utility tax relief is available in the form of a reimbursement for taxes paid for a single residential telephone landline and for basic cable television services only.   -  Applications for this reimbursement cover taxes previously paid for the year. Checks will be mailed out by mid-February.

Provides monthly or bi-monthly credits to TPU customers whose incomes are at or below 60% of the area median income. Bill Credit Assistance Plan customers will receive an Automatic Credit regardless of on-time payment AND will have the opportunity to receive an additional Achievable Credit when their balance is paid on-time. Installment plans are allowed if made within the specific guidelines. Credits may be achieved even with installment plans if the bill is paid within specific guidelines. Credits can be achieved for all services billed directly to the customer by TPU.

Provides a special rebate for electric service. Assistance is usually a 15-40% reduction of a customer's bill based on their household size and income.

Offers reduced utility rates to low-income Tacoma Public Utility customers who are older adults or disabled. Applies to electricity, drinking water, solid waste, wastewater, and stormwater costs.

Currently, Jefferson County PUD offers three types of rate reductions in the form of monthly credits to qualifying low income customers to help assist with their utility bills: Standard Low Income Program Credit: A monthly bill credit is available for all electric customers who meet qualifying household income standards. Senior Low Income Program Credit: A monthly bill credit is available to senior citizens, age 62 and older, whose monthly household income exceeds the qualifications of the standard credit, but remains at or below the qualifying threshold level of the senior program. Water/Wastewater Low Income Program Credit: All customers who qualify for either the standard or senior low-income electric bill credit will also qualify for a credit on their PUD water charges and a discount (as set forth in the Jefferson County PUD rate schedule) on the PUD wastewater charge, should they receive those services from the PUD.
