Types of financial assistance include - Food, gas, & clothing - Utilities with disconnect notice - Mortgage, rental, security deposit - Transportation assistance Also assists with getting discharge documents/DD-214 requests, case management, budgeting, and referrals to additional services.

Washington State law and the Kitsap County code have established the Veterans Assistance Fund as a steady source of tax dollars to be utilized for the needs of indigent veterans and their families.  A portion of property tax collected in Kitsap County is earmarked for the VAF.  The overall goal is to assist all veterans-in-the-need back into mainstream society by ensuring they understand all the programs available to them.  Temporary emergency assistance is available for:   Rental and mortgage assistance   Energy or utilities assistance   Food assistance   Transportation assistance   Medical and prescription coverage   Burial or cremation assistance   Auto repair   Appliance repair   Clothing

No move-in assistance.

Low income for heating assistance program for members of the Swinomish Tribe living on the Swinomsh reservation or in Skagit County and members of other tribes living on the Swinomish Reservation.

Examples of financial assistance include: -  Car repair -  Essential home items -  Rent or mortgage -  Utilities -  Dental   -  Food   -  Moving -  Emergency travel & transportation   -  Eyeglasses   Must be able to show that financial resources are insufficient to meet current expenses, and that those expenses are already due or past due.   Can provide only emergency food assistance and eyeglasses to individuals in the general eligibility group.

Provides a wide range of services for youth 12-24 years of age. Services focus on housing support, mental health, education, parent support, healthcare, criminal/legal support, and advocacy services. - Advocates can help access services based on unique situation & need, such as transportation, phone cards, obtaining a State ID, food banks, DSHS benefit applications, and job search. - Housing support may include housing search, referral to a shelter, temporary housing, or rapid/immediate housing, depending on the client's circumstances. - Refers to Okanogan Behavioral Healthcare or online counseling for mental health support. - Connects clients to criminal/legal support and services, such as defense attorneys, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, or Northwest Justice Project. - Parenting support includes baby items, free books, referrals to child services, and more. - Bilingual tutoring is available on site.

Assists qualified veterans with VA Benefits applications and helps access the Veterans Relief Fund. Other services include survivors' benefits, rehabilitation and employment assistance, education assistance, and life insurance coverage.

Provides a discount on landline telephone service to eligible low-income customers.

Offers financial assistance to cancer patients in urgent need who are within a three-month window of treatment. Cancer patients may be eligible for a one-time grant of up to $450 to help with expenses including the following: -  Rent/mortgage -  Utilities -  Food -  Transportation -  Dental care -  Childcare -  Medical supplies - Prescription copays Financial assistance may take up to two to three months, so program is not able to assist with immediate shut-off or eviction notices.

Provides baby layettes, infant supplies, clothing, and household articles through a voucher. Assists with transportation, gas vouchers, school supplies, and emergency food when funding allows. Also provides financial assistance for rent and utilities, such as energy, water, sewer, garbage, and phone, when funding permits. Also operates a thrift store where donations are accepted.

Financial assistance provided will depend on current funding. Picture ID and disconnect/urgent notice required. Help is available once in a 12 month period.

Provides a drop in center that assists with food, clothing, diapers, showers, hygiene items, pet food, laundry facilities, bus fare, and temporary mailing addresses. Advocates are available to help connect individuals to community resources. Offers limited financial assistance in obtaining ID, storage fees, utility and phone bills, and rental applications. Also, provides outdoor gear when available. No overnight shelter or rental assistance.
