Provides one-time emergency assistance funds for undocumented immigrants in Benton-Franklin Counties who are dealing with emergencies, like severe illness, loss of a job, accidents, etc., and because of their legal status, do not qualify for other state or federal programs. If applicant is approved, a check in the amount of $250-$400 will be mailed.

AREN payments may be made up to a maximum of $750 in a 12-month period.   - Also includes WorkFirst support services, which helps with rent, mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities, moving costs, all housing-related fees, hookup fees, refundable and non-refundable deposits, and temporary housing for households participating in WorkFirst. Offers Coordinated Entry, Homeless Diversion, and Housing and Essential Needs (HEN). - Coordinated entry is a process developed to ensure that all people experiencing a housing crisis have fair and equal access and are quickly identified, assessed for, referred, and connected to housing and assistance based on their strengths and needs. - Diversion is a fast paced, short-term case management program that can assist the individual/household(s) with solving problems and barriers by utilizing the existing strengths and resources of the individual/household(s). We can assist with limited flexible funding, based on eligibility, in order to assist the individual/household with obtaining permanent housing which can include relocation and other activities that support obtaining permanent. - Housing and Essential Needs Grant Funds can only be used to support HEN eligible clients that qualify as homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Allowable financial assistance for housing may include monthly rent, overdue rent, security deposit, and service animal deposits. Utilities assistance is limited to electricity, natural gas, sewer, water, garbage, and utility deposits. Essential Needs assistance includes help with obtaining personal health and hygiene items (such as toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper), cleaning supplies (such as laundry and dish soap), and bus passes.  Assistance cannot be provided through gift cards, vouchers, or certificates.  All HEN clients are eligible to receive essential needs assistance.

This fund may be disbursed to indigent veterans and their families or the families of those deceased in the amount not to exceed $1,800.00 per applicant per calendar year, not to exceed two years, unless the indigent veteran qualifies for additional funds. After one year of waiting, the veteran may reapply for further assistance with proof of eligibility. (Exceptions are burial and catastrophic expenses) Approval granted only for the following: 1. Past Due Rent or Mortgage 2. Past Due Utilities; electric, water or Natural Gas 3. Needed Food Items 4. Needed Fire Wood or Propane

Provides rent and utility assistance to veterans. To receive help with past due rent you must show an eviction notice, and for assistance with utilities a past due bill is required. The North West Veterans Resource Center (NWVRC)  is now the lead agency for the fund and has , and WDVA Service Officers to assist with VA claims. Volunteers will educate veterans and their families about available benefits, assist in filing claims for benefits, and appealing benefit claims.
