Bank On Thurston County offered at Thurston County Asset Building Coalition
Connects people with banks or credit unions that will help them to set up low cost or no cost accounts. The banks and credit unions offer a second chance to people who have had problems with overdrafts.
Connects people with banks or credit unions that will help them to set up low cost or no cost accounts.
These accounts are for people who have never used a bank as well as those who have had problems banking in the past.
Each bank has different amounts that they want you to have to open an account (anywhere from $5 - $50).
Also offers free financial education classes and income tax filing assistance.
Participating banks include the Key Bank, Home Street Bank, O'Bee Credit Union, Harborstone Credit Union, and Twin Star Credit Union.
Bilingual or interpreter assistance may be offered at Key Bank and Twin Star Credit Union, depending on staff availability.

Banking Assistance offered by Bank On Seattle-King County
Helps people who currently don't have checking or savings accounts overcome barriers to getting those accounts.
Connects people with affordable checking, savings, credit and financial education opportunities.
Provides alternatives to paying exorbitant fees and interest for financial services.
Helps people open checking and savings accounts who currently don't have them.
Program features a low opening deposit requirement, no monthly minimum balance, no (or low) monthly minimum fee, free ATM or debit card, savings account, direct deposit, online banking (if available) and programs that encourage savings.
Participating institutions will:
- Accept Mexican Matricula Consular card as primary ID and will accept an ITIN in lieu of a Social Security number.
- Open accounts for people on ChexSystems if the activity is more than six months old, except for internal fraud or restitution policies. Some banks will open accounts for people on ChexSystems with activity present within the last six months, on a case-by-case basis.
- Waive one set of NSF/OD fees annually and offer an additional feature or service to help customers avoid NSF/OD.
- Provide clear, written explanation of Bank On Seattle-King County program.
- Refer customers to financial education.
