Hosts a legal clinic specifically designed to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples. This clinic is run by QLaw Foundation in partnership with the King County Bar Association. The clinic is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the clinic, an attorney will meet with clients for 30 minutes and provide individualized legal advice and information. Clinic attorneys will answer questions and provide information in a variety of areas including family law, immigration, debt and bankruptcy, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, and transgender legal issues.

LAW Advocates matches low-income people struggling with debt with volunteer attorneys to provide advice and representation in bankruptcy, if appropriate.

Volunteer bankruptcy lawyers meet individually with debtor clients who are considering or have already applied for bankruptcy as well as those who need assistance with other debt issues. We offer an online course that meets the requirements which mandates completion of an instructional/education course in personal financial management in order for an individual chapter 7 or 13 debtor to receive a bankruptcy discharge.

Chinese Information and Service Center, Asian Bar Association of Washington, and Asian Counseling and Referral Service partner with the King County Bar Association to provide a free legal clinic. Pro bono attorneys work with staff and volunteer interpreters to give consultation and legal advice around family law, immigration law, landlord-tenant disputes, employment law, and other areas. Offers representation in Chapter 7 & 13 Bankruptcy for a sliding-scale flat fee. The VLP strives to help low-income community members help themselves with civil legal matters by providing legal education through clinics, classes, and in-court volunteers. The VLP's primary focus is Family Law, but the program also assists with certain housing, consumer, and bankruptcy issues.

Kitsap Legal Services works with volunteer attorneys who will give legal advice and limited assistance to low-income Kitsap County residents.. All legal consultations are by appointment only and potential clients must go through the eligibility process. Currently, most legal appointments are occurring by phone or Zoom. There is often a waiting period of several weeks for an appointment and we typically CANNOT provide an attorney to go with you to court. If you are facing eviction, and you meet eligibility requirements, we may be able to provide an attorney to immediately represent you.

Advice clinics offer one-on-one appointments with a volunteer attorney for civil law matters only. Topics include family law (custody, visitation, divorce, minor guardianship), general law (contracts, consumer protection, debt), immigration law, and employment law. No walk-in appointments-all are scheduled after an intake with staff. Self-help materials and forms available as well.

Interpreter services are available to assist non-English-speaking clients.

The pre-bankruptcy counseling process will entail a 60-90min counseling session. It is designed to examine your current financial situation and provide you with options that will help you make an informed decision regarding your financial difficulties. During the counseling session, one of our certified credit counselors will work with you to determine what your current income and assets are versus your monthly liabilities. This information will then be used to create an accurate and detailed monthly budget to provide you with a clear and concise snapshot of your overall financial situation.   At the end of the counseling process the counselor will provide you with a certificate showing your participation and completion of the pre-bankruptcy counseling session. This certificate will enable you to complete the bankruptcy process.

Offers comprehensive financial counseling services including: - Budget and debt management. - Debt repayment strategies. - HUD-approved mortgage, delinquency, and default resolution consolidation. - Home purchase guidance. - Bankruptcy counseling and post-bankruptcy counseling. - Student loan counseling.

Provides general legal aid. Assistance types may include criminal record expungement, eviction prevention, family law, tribal law, protection orders, guardianship, wills, and tenancy issues. Issues must have occurred within the stated service area.

Staff or volunteer attorneys provide potential Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filers with the information and forms necessary to successfully file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on their own. There is a bi-monthly Bankruptcy Prep Clinic that provides information about preparing to file a Chapter 7 case, and a monthly Bankruptcy Forms Clinic that provides a review of the bankruptcy forms that will be filed with the court. In addition to the prep and form clinics, a staff attorney is available to confer individually with clients as needed.
