An educational program that draws from the latest research on violence prevention. Providers go into local classrooms to teach children and youth how to get help if they are being abused or are living with violence. Offers programs to teach children that they have the right to be safe, to listen to their feelings, and to tell and keep telling safe adults when they need help. Also teaches adults (parents, caregivers, and teachers) how to listen to children, how to identify abuse indicators, and how to respond appropriately.

We offer a diverse schedule of in-school and after-school programming designed to support the social and emotional development of our young participants, as well as their educational growth. From academic support to programming that strengthens positive identity and awareness, our programs help our youth reach their full potential. After-School is held throughout the school year.

Offers trainings and workshops for teens regarding the issues of sexual assault and dating violence. Topics include: -  Dating and domestic violence -  Sexual assault, healthy relationships (gangs, family, dating, etc.) -  Anti-oppression -  Cultural competency -  Belief systems -  Stereotypes -  Alcohol -  Conflict resolution

Description: Provides virtual group mentoring and one-on-one mentoring programs for at-risk youth in King County. Recruits and trains mentors, pairs them with at-vulnerable risk youths and supports the youth/mentor relationship to increase its power and duration. Group Mentoring: Blends history, social studies, civic education, economic and service-learning standards into an experiential learning framework to inspire critical thinking, life skills development and youth activism, encouraging youth to choose the road away from incarceration and toward higher education. Youth attend a virtual weekly group session, youth can attend from King County neighborhoods. Youth who attend must be in high school . One-on-one Mentoring: Youth are matched one-on-one with a mentor who helps them realize alternatives to destructive behaviors. Mentors assist and encourage the mentee to fulfill the goals they have for: education, vocation and a drug- or alcohol-free lifestyle. Also facilitates mentorship opportunities in which caring adults offer guidance, support and encouragement to at-risk youth. Tutoring: Provided for youth who need assistance with schoolwork, homework and support in math, science, reading etc. Parents must make commitment that their youth will attend Tutoring sessions.

Offers a variety of services, including mental health and substance use disorder prevention and intervention. Located in all Mercer Island public schools. Services include confidential mental health counseling, classroom presentations, alcohol/drug interventions, prevention, and referrals, and life skills training and crisis intervention. There is a full-time counselor available in each public school.

Therapists and clinical interns support local children, youth, and caregivers through difficult times. The Behavioral Health Program uses a trauma and culturally responsive, evidence-based approach to address issues such as – but not limited to – depression, family conflict, trauma, and anxiety. Also facilitates a therapeutic gaming program called CoRe where Seattle middle school students play video games to cultivate communication and social emotional skills.

Empowers participants to aspire to the highest quality of life by helping develop life skills, providing support and connecting clients to direct services.   Assists participants and motivates them to become self-sufficient through direct access to education, employment, readiness, treatment, mental health care and housing stability options.

Provides a youth violence prevention program aimed at middle school males of color. Teaches alternate options for reducing conflict, managing anger and avoiding violence through structured dialogue, culture specific exercise and group mentoring. Students enrolled in MIP receive mentoring and direction from adult males of color.

Provides Beyond the Bell program and other education and recreation activities. Provides an afterschool program for students in K-5th grade. Also has senior activities, such as exercise, Bingo, and a coloring group and summer activities.
