A telephone intake and referral system which connects callers to legal information including advice, brief legal service, and referrals to agencies where legal representation is available. Staff attorneys will often help a caller by preparing court papers, negotiating and advocating on their behalf. Advises and assists with family law (divorce, separation, custody, child support), housing issues, foreclosure, evictions, access to government benefits, access to medical care and benefits, education rights, employment issues (primarily for agricultural workers), Native American Law, and consumer related issues (bankruptcy, debt collections, fraud).
