Stand Down Event offered by Veterans Stand Downs at Clark County Veterans Stand Down
Provides an annual health and wellness resource event. Services include employment help, housing assistance, mental health, clothing, haircuts, food, pet services by the Humane Society, and health and dental information. Lunch and transportation vans are available.
Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day events during which VA staff and volunteers provide food, clothing and health screenings to homeless and at-risk Veterans. Veterans also receive referrals for health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling and other essential services.

Provides a service officer who appears before the Veterans Administration rating board and assists the client in obtaining rightful benefits. Use of the officer can substantially minimize the time required for processing. Service officers also assist veterans with disabilities in preparing claims for service connected compensation, hospitalization, occupational training, education, insurance, burial, death, pension, or other benefits. No assistance is available for Social Security claims.
