Provides assistance for Benton and Franklin County Veterans, their families, and the families of deceased Veterans who meet the eligibility criteria for assistance. Community referrals to partner agencies for housing, case management services, VA claims and other services are given when needed. Services may include: utility assistance, rental/mortgage assistance, application fee/background checks for housing or pre-employment, up to 1 week in a motel for homeless veterans, bus passes, food vouchers, burial expenses (up to $1,000), necessary safety equipment required by employer to gain employment, dental assistance (up to $2,000), and childcare assistance.

Assists with the preparation and processing of claims for all state and federal veterans benefits, including disability compensation, widows' and survivors' pensions, aid & attendance, health care benefits, and educational benefits.   Provides counseling and referral services using a case management approach. Represents veterans in cases adjudicated with the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Seattle. Provides outreach in areas not near a veterans service office.

Stand Downs are typically one- to three-day events during which VA staff and volunteers provide food, clothing and health screenings to homeless and at-risk Veterans. Veterans also receive referrals for health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, mental health counseling and other essential services.

Attorneys CANNOT give advice on criminal legal issues or provide representation on any legal matters.

Also provides mental health counseling, including military related PTSD and military sexual trauma.

Provides a service officer who appears before the Veterans Administration rating board and assists the client in obtaining rightful benefits. Use of the officer can substantially minimize the time required for processing. Service officers also assist veterans with disabilities in preparing claims for service connected compensation, hospitalization, occupational training, education, insurance, burial, death, pension, or other benefits. No assistance is available for Social Security claims.
