Provides a free elder law clinic for residents of King County. Provides a free half-hour of advice.    Examples of issues presented are   -  Health directives -  Power-of-attorneys -  Wills Some frequently asked questions include: "What should I put in my will?" "Can I legally place my father in a nursing home? "Is my will legal in the state of Washington?" and "Can you help me understand the complexities of WA Apple Health (Medicaid) and estate planning?"   Program is offered in partnership with the King County Bar Association and Senior Rights Assistance through Sound Generations.

Hosts a legal clinic specifically designed to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and couples. This clinic is run by QLaw Foundation in partnership with the King County Bar Association. The clinic is open to everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. At the clinic, an attorney will meet with clients for 30 minutes and provide individualized legal advice and information. Clinic attorneys will answer questions and provide information in a variety of areas including family law, immigration, debt and bankruptcy, divorce/dissolution, employment discrimination, and transgender legal issues.

Operates a legal clinic providing a free 30-minute consultation with an attorney (60 minutes if an interpreter or other accommodation is needed) Clinic is open to all, but particular focus is on providing culturally-informed legal services in a safe and welcoming environment to individuals who identify as African American or Black. This clinic is staffed primarily by attorneys of color. Clinic attorneys can: -  Determine whether the client has a legal problem -  Suggest possible options -  Help answer papers, summons and requests -  Provide appropriate referrals   Neighborhood Legal Clinic attorneys may not have expertise in all areas of the law, but they will make every attempt to answer questions accurately. Attorneys CANNOT give advice on criminal legal issues or provide representation on any legal matters.

Provides free 45-minute to 1-hour appointments with an attorney for advice on civil legal issues such as: consumer, finance/debt, employment, housing, benefits. Appointments are required. Clinics are currently telephonic. Attorneys at the clinic are not able to provide representation.

Assists with asset protection, estate planning, assistance with long-term care needs, probate and trust administration, and leveraging government benefits; such as Medicaid and VA Benefits. Focuses on the particular needs of seniors, those with special needs and their families. Offers Estate Planning practice that goes beyond the traditional realm of Wills and Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives. Addresses the legal and social issues affecting seniors, the disabled, vulnerable adults and their families. The goal is to address every contingency elders and their family may face with aging, illness, or incapacity.  Assists elders and their family navigate the complexities of Long-Term Care and Asset Preservation. Also provides legal counsel and guidance for those with special needs who are receiving government benefits through SSI or Medicaid, and helps preserve those benefits, yet allow for additional funds to be set aside in a trust for future needs. Areas of expertise include: -  Protecting your assets for your spouse and family when you need at-home, assisted living, or nursing home care. -  Obtaining Medicaid Long-Term Care benefits -  Finding and keeping appropriate Long-Term Care services -  Advance planning for your estate to ensure flexibility as your circumstances change -  Probate or administration of your estate or trust

Provides information and documents related to ONLY these topics: estate planning, end-of-life planning, power of attorney, probate/small estates, long-term care, and adult guardianship (no minor guardianship). **Cannot** assist with any other legal issues, topics listed are only issues we can address. Coordinates two elder law clinics through a partnership between Sound Generations and the King County Bar Association. Thirty-minute appointments with attorneys are available in Seattle and Kent.
