Provides educational information on various communicable diseases, such as Hepatitis and Pertussis (Whooping Cough) etc. Provides tracking and follow up on individuals potentially exposed to communicable diseases to prevent further spread of the illness. Provides immunizations to infants, children, and adults, as well as information on vaccines presentable diseases.

Investigates diseases of public health significance and tracks disease statistics. Receives reports of required notifiable conditions as well as complaints regarding illnesses. Answers general health questions and provides referrals to community resources for immunizations. Provides HIV positive individuals linkages to services, including medical providers, Early Intervention Program, HOPWA, and REACH. Oversees the Tri-Cities Diabetes Coalition, which promotes diabetes awareness and education, lifestyle changes and diabetes risk education.  Counselors are fully trained in meal preparation for the special dietary needs of a diabetic.

Provides information regarding HIV/STD transmission, referral to services, HIV antibody counseling and testing (anonymous and confidential), individual and group support for HIV positive individuals, educational presentations to high risk populations.  

Offers primary health care for the entire family, including OB and pediatric services at multiple sites. Some locations offer Ear, Nose, and Throat services.

Handles communicable disease reporting, provides case investigation and follow-up information for treatment for healthcare professionals and the general public.   Provides nursing case management to Chelan and Douglas County residents with active tuberculosis disease. Medication disposal service available for clients with tuberculosis. Public health nurses may offer flu shots at predetermined locations in the fall.

Provides services that are vital in protecting the health and safety of the entire community by assisting in the following areas: communicable disease prevention, investigation & control immunizations, parent-child health, sexual health education, prevention, and communications & information sharing. Certain conditions, called notifiable conditions, must be reported to the Health District by health care providers, laboratories, and other health related organizations in accordance with the Revised Code of Washington.

Provides various public health programs, including communicable disease control, environmental health information, breast and cervical cancer information, HIV education in schools, birth/death certificates, blood pressure screening, children with special health care needs program, and vital statistics.

Provides a variety of community health, environmental health, and support services, such as: food handler cards, birth and death certificates, communicable disease prevention, on-site septic program, Harm Reduction/Syringe Exchange program, Maternal Child Health, and adult vaccines (Hep A & Hep B). Also offers syringe exchange.

Offers STD/STI testing and treatment for women.

Responsible for environmental health control, septic system, solid waste management, and food safety. Also provides copies of birth and death certificates. Assists with information and referrals to health care, birth control, STD/HIV/AIDS programs, and immunization clinics.

Protects the health of the community by working to prevent the spread of diseases such as hepatitis, tuberculosis, STD's and HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases. Nurse epidemiologists follow-up on communicable disease reports from medical providers and laboratories to identify the source of a disease or outbreak, and prevent further spread of illness through assuring appropriate medical assessment and treatment of patients and their contacts. Programs include: - public health consulting, - communicable disease epidemiology and investigation, - STD/HIV services - antibiotic resistance prevention, - immunization referral, - tuberculosis control, - public health emergency preparedness and response - and refugee health.
