Car Seat Education and Assistance Program – Child passenger safety information and education is provided by appointment to ensure all children have a properly installed car or booster seat and can travel as safely as possible. Some assistance in obtaining safe car seats is available for those who qualify.

Provides material resources for infants (car seats, strollers, cribs, etc.), on an available basis only.  Persons desiring these items must register name on waiting list.

Provides various services for children, such as car seat safety checks and car seat discounted fees, Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD Dental), and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN). - ABCD provides access to dental care throughout Benton Franklin Counties for children who have WA Apple Health (Medicaid). Provides assistance in finding a dentist that will fit location, timing and language preferences and assists in coordinating transportation and interpreter services. - CSHCN provides care coordination for children with complex health needs, assists families to coordinate care with medical providers, to access local resources for their child, and to understand cope with the child's health condition. - Car seat safety check are also provided at Kadlec Regional Medical Center, 2nd Wednesday of every month. Only by appointment.

Offers ongoing support for pregnant women and their partners, and parenting families of infants and toddlers. Parenting education is provided one on one with a trained parenting advocate. Once enrolled, a client works with their parenting advocate to choose a curriculum best suited to their needs and interests. While clients are learning they earn credits to spend any way they wish on maternity and baby supplies at the Boutique.

Safe Kids Thurston County, as a part of the Safe Kids Worldwide global nonprofit organization founded in 1988 by Children’s National Medical Center, mission is to prevent unintentional childhood injury, a leading cause of death and disability for children ages one to 19 years. Safe Kids Thurston County brings together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families. Since its founding, Safe Kids Worldwide has contributed to a 55% reduction in U.S. child fatality rates from unintentional injury. Safe Kids Thurston County sells low cost helmets at many community events throughout the year, and through medical clinics such as ABC Pediatrics, South Sound Pediatrics, Tumwater Family Practice Clinic, and NW Pediatric clinics to patients during well child visits. Provides clients with incentives to learn life skills as they earn "Baby Bucks" to spend in the "Baby Boutique" on items they need. Once enrolled, a client works with an advocate to choose a curriculum that fits their needs and interests.  Clients earn "Baby Bucks" while they learn how to be better parents.   There are programs available in financial planning, relationship building and communications tools. Available resources includes: layettes, diapers, wipes, clothing - sizes infant to 2T,  car seats, cribs and baby furniture.

Provides free infant and toddler clothing (including onsies), diapers and baby wipes to those in need. Creates handmade packets for newborns which include layettes and a newborn car seat. Baby food and formula are sometimes available, depending on donations. Also offers prayer ministry. Strollers and other infant items are available. Also offers clothing for children (up to size 5). Some shoes and toys available. All services will depend on donations. Households can visit once per month. Each visit a household can receive 40 diapers per child, up until the age of 4/ size 6.

Trained volunteers provide pregnancy-related information on a friend-to-friend basis via telephone and in person.   Offers emotional support to women concerning pregnancy. Promotes a pro-life philosophy.   Loans toddler beds, bassinets and some baby furniture to clients.  Provides car seats to clients when available. Clothing bank provides maternity clothes and clothing for children until youngest child is 5 years old. Provides ongoing in-service training by professionals for volunteers on regular basis.  

Trained volunteers provide pregnancy-related mentoring on a friend-to-friend basis in person.   Offers emotional support to women for carrying pregnancy to full-term.   Offers a limited amount of maternity, baby and children's clothing to clients.   Additionally has car seats and strollers as well as formula, diapers and baby food. Baby furniture such as cribs and changing tables is available depending on donations. Maintains a list of people's needs and attempts to match these needs with donations. Does not provide abortion referrals. Provides referrals to medical and social services.

Provides in-kind aid to families with babies and young children. Provides diapers as well as a wide variety of baby and children's clothing up to size 6. Other items are dependent on donations such as baby furniture, blankets, toys, books, car seats and strollers and maternity clothing. All car seats are inspected by an on-site technician. Written Spanish and Dari brochures available and spoken Spanish is available on Monday and Friday. .

The Safety Center offers child safety assessments to help parents identify safety hazards in the home. Also offers a variety of low-cost safety products including security locks, carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms, baby safety gates, bike helmets, and more. The Safety Center also provides education on the correct use and installation of child safety seats and seat restraints. The Safety Center sponsors periodic child safety seat checkups, a certified technician will help parents and caregivers learn how to install and use their child restraints properly and will check for correct installation of child safety seat, damage, recalls, and size and age appropriateness. Child safety seats are distributed for those meeting income requirements.
