Courses in accounting, business management, computers and computing, project management, teacher’s education, workforce development, recertification, flagging certificate & Commercial Driver's Licensing (CDL) offer working adults the opportunity to stay current in their fields and get the additional education they need to advance in their careers. Corporate, Nonprofit and Customized Training Whether it is skill training, consultative services, credit or non-credit based, we provide you with cost-effective workforce training solutions. We meet your needs for employee assessment, training, design, and delivery of training and services on campus or at your place of business.

Renton RFA partners with Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority and Valley Regional Fire Authority to provide CPR/AED and First Aid training to the community. Curriculum is based on the standards set forth by the American Heart Association and meets WISHA and OSHA requirements. CPR/AED Curriculum - Session is designed to provide the fundamental skills and confidence needed to perform CPR on an adult, child, or infant. - Participants learn how to recognize and alleviate airway obstructions, properly use an AED (automatic external defibrillator), and the signs, symptoms, and corrective action for a stroke or heart attack. First Aid Curriculum: - Session provides the fundamental skills necessary to recognize and treat medical emergencies. - Participants learn scene safety, the signs and symptoms of diabetes, stroke, and seizures, and how to best treat these emergencies. - Participants also learn how to control bleeding, treat for shock and burns, and manage head and spine injuries. Each course is broken up into two half-day sessions – one session for CPR/AED training and one session for First Aid training. - Participants can choose to sign up for one or both sessions, depending on their needs. - The entire course is taught by certified firefighter/EMT instructors. - Completion cards are given for both CPR/AED and First Aid training and are good for 2-years.

Provides comprehensive and up-to-date birth and family education at the most affordable price for pregnant women and their families. Program offers a full spectrum of classes covering pregnancy through parenting teens and is taught by certified childbirth educators. Learn what to expect during pregnancy and labor, parenting skills for newborn, young child, or teen, and you'll meet other people experiencing some of the same joys and challenges that go along with being a mom or dad. Support groups are also available.  

Offers prenatal, CPR, birth refresher, wellness and chronic disease management classes.   CPR class is intended for the general public for adult CPR and choking techniques. Participants do receive a Medic II CPR card, good for 2 years. The card is not a certificate. The newsletter 'Med Info' is published quarterly and lists classes and special events.

Other classes include: - Toddler Gym - CPR for infants/adults - Life Skills - Cooking and Nutrition - K-12 Tutoring. Offers support groups and workshops for Latino families.  Facilitates support groups to increase family's social support and decrease family isolation.   Also offers family advocacy, application assistance along with information and referral to a variety of other services.

Recreation programs are available for all ages: children, teens, adult, and over age 50. Programs include after-school classes, summer camps, school break camps, fitness classes, sports activities, self-improvement courses, dance, and special interest classes.

CPR classes are held at the Spokane Valley Fire Department Training Center (2411 N. Pioneer Lane). This CPR course is provided to the public at no cost and is a participatory course only, not a certification course. Call or RSVP online.

Offers a variety of classes on pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding and parenting, in-person or on zoom. Technology equipment available for people to attend the classes. BASIC CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASS:   Addresses the last months of pregnancy, childbirth and early postpartum.   Teaches relaxation and breathing techniques.   Class meets for seven sessions before the birth and one postpartum reunion class.   LABOR AND BIRTH:   This short course is to prepare for or review childbirth.   Meets for one eight hour class or two four-hour sessions. BREASTFEEDING CLASS:   Offers helpful hints and information on breast feeding for expectant and new mothers; babies are welcome.   Private classes may be available. SIBLING CLASS:   Prepares children ages 2. 5 to 7 for the pregnancy, birth and homecoming of a new family member.   BABYSAFE AND INFANT CPR:   Infant safety class for new and expectant parents and other caregivers who want to learn infant CPR and ways to prevent accidents and/or injuries for the baby younger than one year of age.   NEWBORN CARE CLASS:   Offers information about baby care during the first weeks of life, including diapering, cord care, bathing and comforting.
