Parent Child Health supports families in Kitsap with multiple programs. Our staff is available to provide referrals and guidance to all pregnant and parenting families in the county in multiple languages. A free, personal nurse for first time, low income mothers. New mothers receive support, education and valuable resources to be the best parent they can be.

Kitsap Supports Breastfeeding is a network of supports for lactating parents and promotes breastfeeding / chestfeeding in our community.

The Everett Clinic offers a wide variety of classes. Curriculums change month to month. Classes frequently offered include TEC Weight Loss for Life; Your Life, Your Wishes; Conquering Anxiety; Coping with Stress; Living with Chronic Conditions; Newborn Basics, and more.

Provides a nutrition program and food assistance for pregnant and postpartum women and infants and children under age 5.   Offers: -  Nutrition and health assessments and education -  Breastfeeding counseling -  Vouchers for specific nutritious foods -  Health screenings and referrals -  Referrals to other health and social programs Monthly benefits are valued at approximately $150 for a family of two per month for nutritious foods. Families can also use their WIC QR code to spend summer Farmers Market benefits and monthly Fruit and Vegetable benefits at approved farmers markets and farm stores. Participants can receive $28 of Farmers Market benefits, with a maximum of $84 per family.

Provides current information on women's health issues both over the phone and on a website. Offers publications on various health topics such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, body image, HIV/AIDS, menopause, quitting smoking and violence against women. Information is available for special populations: minority women, women with disabilities, girls, and men. Referrals can be made to appropriate national health organizations.

Offers a variety of classes on pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding and parenting. Technology equipment available for people to attend the classes. BASIC CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASS:   Addresses the last months of pregnancy, childbirth and early postpartum.   Teaches relaxation and breathing techniques.   Class meets for seven sessions before the birth and one postpartum reunion class.   LABOR AND BIRTH:   This short course is to prepare for or review childbirth.   Meets for one eight hour class or two four-hour sessions. BREASTFEEDING CLASS:   Offers helpful hints and information on breast feeding for expectant and new mothers; babies are welcome.   Private classes may be available. SIBLING CLASS:   Prepares children ages 2. 5 to 7 for the pregnancy, birth and homecoming of a new family member.   BABYSAFE AND INFANT CPR:   Infant safety class for new and expectant parents and other caregivers who want to learn infant CPR and ways to prevent accidents and/or injuries for the baby younger than one year of age.   NEWBORN CARE CLASS:   Offers information about baby care during the first weeks of life, including diapering, cord care, bathing and comforting.

Provides education, support and treatment for breastfeeding, lactation consultations, tongue-tied infants, premature infants, jaundiced infants and more. Also, connects individuals with the First Steps program which assists low income families by provide maternity and infant care services.

Offers supportive services for parents and caregivers to build loving bonds with their children preparing them for healthy futures. Essential Needs: - Provides diapers of various sizes, wipes and formula based on availability. Can receive additional supplies every 30 days. - Provides clothing sizes newborn to 2T every 60 days. Takes up to two business days to fill order. - Offers other essential items every 60 days such as Baby bathtub, stroller, highchair, etc. based on availability. Parenting Classes: - Circle of Security teaches parents to identify, understand and respond to their child's emotional needs. The 8-week course is offered quarterly for caregivers of children aged six months to five years. - Baby Care 101 is a course providing expectant and newly parenting caregivers education and tools to learn how to care for their new baby. - Toddler Care 202 is an interactive parenting series that covers child development, nutrition, sleep, potty-training, and more. - Also offers an interactive music class for children ages birth-5 to attend with their caregiver. Pregnancy and Parenting Support: Offers a weekly drop-in social support group for moms with children up to age 5. Childcare is provided. ​Offers parents the opportunity to have parent support, goal setting, and community resources to help them be the parent they want to be with support from our compassionate circle of security-trained case manager. Families with children ages 3-5 can access Education Support to work on kindergarten readiness. Adults may receive ESL support. Maternal Health Services provides community-based programs and services focused on providing preventive health and education for growing families throughout Central Washington. With a staff dedicated to giving families a healthy, hopeful start in life, Maternal Health Services offers programs in genetic counseling, maternity support services, maternal child health home visiting and coordination of regional perinatal improvement programs. Services available: - Central Washington Genetics Program: Offers genetic counseling, specialized genetic testing and diagnostic services. - Maternal Child Health Program: Provides office and home visits by a community health nurse or a licensed counselor.
