Offers a recognized apprenticeship preparation program through the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council. Serves young adults of color age 18-26 who are interested in pursuing a career in the trades or other “under-emphasized” or “under-accessed” career paths. Combines career exploration and hands-on experience and is rooted in the belief that Scholars will achieve greater satisfaction in their careers, and life in general, if they choose the best-fit path for them. Believes that Scholars possess the inherent strengths and ability to succeed in their chosen path. Strives to eliminate barriers to construction trades exposure, access, and opportunity. Participants (Scholars) participate in six weeks of training (Phase One) focused on career exploration and preparation, wellbeing/soft skill development, safety training, workplace competencies, physical conditioning, construction math, and foundational trades skill knowledge. At the end of Phase One, Scholars choose their path: direct-to-employment, matriculation into a postsecondary institution, or participation in our intensive eight-week construction trades pre-apprenticeship. (Phase Two). Phase Two dives into hands-on construction competencies and skill development to pass apprenticeship entrance testing. Scholars participate in try-a-trade experiences, meet with apprenticeship representatives, and receive additional industry-recognized certifications (total of 8).

Operates a six-month job training pre-apprentice program for youth. Offers GED/HSD (High School Diploma) completion, case management support, job readiness training and pre-apprenticeship training. Youth work on a two-week rotating schedule; one week participating in GED/HSD completion and job readiness training, and the other week learning construction skills in the shop. After students graduate they receive nine months of follow-up from their case manager to continue to help support them in achieving their goals, including placement in apprenticeship programs in the trades. Pays a weekly stipend.

Provides ten weeks of construction training including classroom instruction, hands-on experience, certifications, and site visits to apprenticeship training centers.

Offers a four week pre-apprenticeship training in ironworking, with wages starting at $27. 15 per hour. Run by trade professionals, the program balances classroom studies and on-the-job training while students earn a living wage with healthcare, retirement, and other benefits. As students learn more skills and their abilities increase, their wages increase. Participants receive career navigation, tools and work gear, job placement assistance and support services such as help with transportation and obtaining work-appropriate clothing.

Serves young adults who are looking for new opportunities in education or employment. Provides hands-on training in sustainable water management, combining two days of classroom learning with one day of fieldwork each week. This program equips young adults with skills for careers in environmental conservation and infrastructure.
