Sound Works Job Center assists clients in finding local permanent or temporary employment, as well as providing nationwide employment searches. They offer over 1,000 city, county, private businesses and Naval Base civilian job listings. They also provide one-on-one professional resume writing assistance including the navy Civil Service USAJOBS.GOV resumes. Other services include free Washington State typing speed certifications, interview training and background checks. Again, all services are one-on-one and “free” to both the employer and employee. We Specialize in assisting Veterans in their job search.

Provides a computer lab for client's use in employment search, offers career counseling, job referrals, education assistance, develop resumes, professional clothing bank and hygiene products.

Helps youth ages 16-25 gain employable skills and work history by partnering with with businesses willing to help mentor, teach work ethics, workplace conduct, and develop hirable job skills.  Program provides 100 hours of on-the-job experience, case management, and a variety of incentives.  Participants also attend weekly classes and workshops which teach skills including resume writing, interview skills, financial management and customer service.

Services for all job seekers: - Job postings, a job bank with computers, resume assistance, phones and fax machine, open computer lab - Resume, cover letter, interview skills and technology workshops - Job fairs, hiring events, employer panels and industry forums - Full service Learning Center operated by Renton Technical College offering ESL, Adult Basic Education, GED and the High School 21+ diploma program. Employment workshops include the following classes: - Computer Assisted Job Search: Provides tools and assistance to conduct an effective job search. This includes setting up an email account, learning where to apply online, completing an online application, converting a resume to text only, posting a resume online and learning about career exploration tools. Basic computer skills are required. - Beginning Internet: Teaches how to use the Internet for job search purposes. No computer experience necessary, however Keyboarding and Mouse class highly encouraged as a prerequisite. - Beginning PC Skills: Computer tutorial to help gain speed and confidence on a computer. Will teach how to manipulate a computer and create a document, as well as how to improve typing speed. All levels are welcome. - Mock Interview: Teaches valuable interviewing tips and provides the opportunity to practice frequently in a supportive and realistic environment. - Resume Critique: Provides resume critique and assistance from an employment specialist. Must have an electronic version of your resume, either on a flash drive or within/attached to an email. Must have two job descriptions of jobs you wish to apply to. Limit 8 people per workshop. - Resume & Cover Letters: Teaches how to write a compelling cover letter and resume. Basic computer skills and/or typing experience preferred. - Women's Worth & Rights in the Workplace: Provides tips and tools for effectively evaluating your worth and negotiation power. Will also cover local, state and federal labor standards and what to do when your rights at work are violated. - Interview Skills: Practice responding to typical interview questions and begin the necessary preparation to ace a job interview.

WCC's Career Center provides a wide variety of services to help students with career planning. Counselors are available by appointment and will help students on an individual or group basis with career exploration and up-to-date information. Students looking for a job can receive assistance in resume writing, interviewing, networking and other job readiness skills.

Provides a variety of in-school and after-school groups for middle school and high school students. Bilingual/agricultural staff offer social and emotional support while learning key skills. Topics include identify development, healthy relationships, history and culture, job searching, post-high school planning and tutoring. LGBTQ/QTBIPOC youth programming is available. Also provides systems navigation workshops for immigrant and refugee parents and guardians. Service learning hours are available.

The goal of the center is to provide career assistance to Western Washington University students and alumni as well as members of the local community. The Center also seeks to develop and maintain positive relationships with employers in the University's service area.

Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. Offers these services as part of the Centers for Strong Families network FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER (FOC) SERVICES: 1. Integrated coaching services; - Employment coaching: Job readiness, employment training, and assistance looking for job are essential parts of what is offered at a Financial Opportunity Center site. A job and opportunities for advancement are the platform that supports a family's financial well-being, and employment services are the initial reason many clients begin working with an FOC. - Financial Coaching: helps clients do a better job in how they handle their money. The goal is for a family to examine their savings and spending habits to see if they can make positive changes that improve their credit scores and stabilize and grow their assets. Income Supports access can be crucial for giving a worker the time and income necessary to fulfill training to reach a better paying position and career. Coaches helps clients work through the disjointed network of public benefits and helps individuals access all of the services and supports for which they are eligible. 2. Financial Education: Every individual has a unique situation and the ability to build financial stability and self-sufficiency. Our Financial Education course offers the tools to help you achieve your financial goals. Improving credit, paying off student loans, working to own a home and planning for retirement are some of the many topics covered in our no-cost training for our community. - Tacoma Public Utility low-income customers may qualify to receive up to an $160 credit for completing our Financial Education program and attending a Financial coaching session. 3. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): the VITA program provides free Federal tax return preparation to households with income under $65,000. VITA sites prepare current years taxes by appointment only, and may prepare up to 3 years back tax return upon request and limited by availability. Announcements of jobs within the state of Washington can be obtained at any WorkSource Center, Affiliate or online. Provides computer access to apply for Washington State Unemployment Insurance. Provides access to community and technical college programs and financial resources for retraining. Helps people find employment who have lost their jobs through company downsizing or plant closures. Offers services to help participants successfully integrate into the community through employment. Includes employment services, behavioral health services and care coordination. Provides vocational evaluations to identify realistic career options and work abilities. Offers job seeking skills training, which prepares clients to apply, interview, and secure a job. Additionally provides job search assistance as well as job retention services once a client has obtained a job. Behavioral health services include psycho-socio assessments, to identify emotional issues, cognitive skills, barriers, and academic abilities as well as counseling, case management and recovery services. Care coordinators are available to assist participants with navigating and integrating their health care and social service needs.

Provides comprehensive educational programs for youth who are blind or visually impaired, psychological counseling, career education, residential services, and outreach to public schools. Also offers an exchange program with public schools.

Provides job and career information through career centers, classes and counselors. CTE courses at the high school level include radio and TV broadcasting, health services, auto mechanics, business & marketing, cyber security, welding, engineering and other programs. Bellevue School District is a member of the Washington Network for Innovative Careers which offers courses in Bellevue schools and seven surrounding school districts. Career centers are located at Bellevue High School, Newport High School, Interlake High School and Sammamish High School.

Integrates career planning, job search training and job referral services through college and career centers at several alternative schools and small schools.   Students receive advice on post-high school options, including:   -  Career and technical education -  Preparing cover letters and resumes -  Completing job applications -  College applications/scholarships   -  Selecting colleges    A job-listing service is available for employers who would like to hire students.
