Community Jobs program is a 6-month on-the-job training program for which participants get paid minimum wage. The purpose of the program is to provide job training, paid schooling, and assistance identifying any employment barriers that an individual may have.

Helps WorkFirst participants gain paid work experience and overcome issues that can interfere with keeping a job. Provides one-on-one assistance. Offers a chance to gain marketable skills, while getting paid. Participants may spend a few weeks to several months working at their host site depending on how quickly participants find permanent employment. Additional services available case-by-case: GED prep testing, short term training, job search assistance, workshops, and LEP services.

Martha & Mary partners with Olympic College to support those seeking a career in healthcare. We sponsor up to five students per class to work with us and be paid for their class time while attending the nursing assistant training program. The sponsored student agrees to one year of full-time employment following completion of the training program to gain experience in a quality care setting. Provides ten weeks of construction training including classroom instruction, hands-on experience, certifications, and site visits to apprenticeship training centers.

Provides a wide range of employment and training counseling and services for youth, adults, and dislocated workers; including training, education, and support they may need to pursue their career and succeed in the workforce. Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Sherwood supports high school students and adults with disabilities who are seeking employment. Sherwood strives to not only place people in jobs, but to ensure they are in jobs they love. We assist with the job search, seek employers, assess and train adults, and provide support for integration into the workplace. We first assess his/her abilities and goals and work with employers to find a successful fit for that individual’s unique abilities and skill-set. Using a person-centered approach, participants learn about employment opportunities within the community and are then able to make informed choices about their employment future. These services are designed to assist individuals in choosing employment outcomes and career development options that are based on his or her preferences, strengths, abilities and needs. Our services offer a variety of activities including job try outs, job tours, job shadowing, labor market analysis, community-based assessments, and possibilities for volunteering in the community. Morningside's evaluation and employment planning services are a way to help define what type of job is wanted and whether that job is right for the client. Services in this area help identify interests, abilities and needs that will be important to client's goals. Also provides the opportunity to explore work options by trying one or more jobs that the client might interested. Working with client and their vocational counselor, to develop a plan and decide how many jobs to try.
