Helps workers who have lost jobs, through no fault of their own, to gain access to federal and state programs for retraining and re-employment. Provides skill and employment assessments that help job seekers in knowing what their skills are and which types of jobs they can potentially qualify for. Veteran Services: Provides job placement assistance, on-the-job training opportunities, and limited job-skills training. Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) maintain contacts outside the office with businesses in the community to do special job development and maintain relationships with veteran service agencies and organizations.

Sherwood supports high school students and adults with disabilities who are seeking employment. Sherwood strives to not only place people in jobs, but to ensure they are in jobs they love. We assist with the job search, seek employers, assess and train adults, and provide support for integration into the workplace. We first assess his/her abilities and goals and work with employers to find a successful fit for that individual’s unique abilities and skill-set. Sherwood provides ongoing coaching to the employee and employer to ensure long-term success. We believe that every individual with a disability should have an opportunity for meaningful employment that uses their abilities to the highest level and offers a competitive wage.
