Assists parents on TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) in finding work. Services include pre-employment competencies, life skills, comprehensive assessment, job referral, job retention services and other support services such as clothing for work search and gas for work search.

Available to Medicaid recipients who have struggled with mental health and/or addiction, currently or in their past who are looking for support to get back into the workforce, start a new career or seek out educational opportunities.

Placement specialist assists clients in job placement. Follow-up continues for at least three months.

Temporary staffing agency that provides jobs to those experiencing poverty, homelessness, or other barriers to employment. Workers can be hired for one-off or recurring jobs in a wide range of industries (landscaping, painting, moving, housekeeping, warehouse, etc. ). Both commercial and residential customers welcome to hire workers. Workers are available for the following types of jobs: - Interior and exterior painting - Cleaning, including washing windows and cleaning decks or siding - Landscaping, such as raking leaves, pruning trees and shrubs and building fences - Home repairs, including installing drywall and other construction-related tasks, demolition and hauling debris - Janitorial - Shelter monitoring at tiny home villages - Graffiti abatement All workers have gone through interviews and orientation, or some kind of soft skills training Workers are provided bus passes to and from the job Customer will be invoiced directly by Uplift NW. Facilitates job matching between healthcare facilities and healthcare professionals. Allows nursing homes, assisted living facilities, residential care facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals to identify specific staffing needs. Individuals who are licensed and/or trained for the various roles in these facilities can register their availability and willingness to fill shifts. An algorithm then matches the workers and the facilities in real time to address staffing shortages.

Basic Food Employment & Training (BFET) provides training and education with a goal of assisting Basic Food customers to attaining a living wage career. Can assist those who qualify with work clothing, gas vouchers, and case management services to assist with finding and maintaining employment.

Offers services to help participants successfully integrate into the community through employment. Includes employment services, behavioral health services and care coordination. Provides vocational evaluations to identify realistic career options and work abilities. Offers job seeking skills training, which prepares clients to apply, interview, and secure a job. Additionally provides job search assistance as well as job retention services once a client has obtained a job. Behavioral health services include psycho-socio assessments, to identify emotional issues, cognitive skills, barriers, and academic abilities as well as counseling, case management and recovery services. Care coordinators are available to assist participants with navigating and integrating their health care and social service needs.

Four workshops designed to help individuals with a conviction history gain the skills they need to find and keep a job. The program focuses on overcoming employment barriers and building essential skills, including: • Cognitive Thinking Transformation: Changing thought patterns to improve decision-making and problem-solving. • Professional Communication: Learning how to communicate effectively in the workplace. • Conflict Resolution: Strategies for handling disagreements in a productive way. • Time Management: Tips for organizing your time and staying on track. • Job Search Techniques: How to find job opportunities and apply for them successfully. • Targeted Resume Building: Creating a resume that highlights your strengths. • Interviewing Techniques: Preparing to present yourself confidently in job interviews. • Handling Management Styles: Adapting to different leadership approaches in the workplace. • Computer Skills: Basic skills needed for today’s job market.

Provides a wide range of employment and training counseling and services for youth, adults, and dislocated workers; including training, education, and support they may need to pursue their career and succeed in the workforce. Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. The goal is to help youth identify a career pathway and gain the skills they need to be successful in that pathway. - WorkFirst: Provides parents the opportunity to gain job skills and experience through a variety of work readiness programs, such as the Community Jobs (CJ) and Career Jump. - Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training (QUEST): connects individuals most affected by the pandemic—– women, tribal members, people of color, people with disabilities, even lower-wage workers—to quality training and employment. Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

Provides occupational assessment, job preparation, and job development for disabled individuals.   Provides training and support for both the client and the employer at the job site to assure a positive relationship for both the employer and employee.

Competitive employment services are designed for individuals who already have specific skills and some previous work history. Participants referred for this service may need assistance in resume building, interviewing techniques and job development activities. Based on the vocational goal of the participant, professional job developers set up job hunting and development activities. These include identifying which employers to contact, securing applications and other position related materials, arranging for informational interviews, and making labor market assessments. The participant is expected to take an active role in the process. Once a position is secured and the job offer accepted, skilled job coaches are available to assist in the initial, intensive training on the job. Retention services are also provided for 90 days following placement. These services focus on insuring that both the employee and employer are satisfied with the job and that expectations are being met. If needed, training is also provided to facilitate co-worker support for the new employee. Even after the 90-day retention period, if the need arises for specific training or support, staff remains available to meet those needs.

Provides employment related assistance to Businesses, Veterans and other eligible persons. Services includes but are not limited to; job development, business relations, job counseling, job search assistance, job referral and placement. Veteran staff regularly advise groups in the community, including employers, labor unions and veterans' organizations, of Veterans eligible for employment, as well as connecting Veterans to job openings.

Offers job referrals for agricultural workers and assistance in finding appropriate employment. Information and counseling is available on current agricultural conditions; bilingual staff is available. Contact WorkSource for further information.

Provides counseling, academic advising, job search assistance, support groups, an evening lecture series, and classes and workshops on a variety of topics, including job search, career choice, self-esteem, assertiveness, and women in transition. Offers low-cost introductory computer classes and resource referrals, an annual Women's Celebration, a multicultural International Women's Day event each March, and domestic violence awareness each October.    Offers WorkFirst Tuition Assistance Program for low-income working parents with books and tuition for classes that will help them advance in the workplace. Additionally offers Families that Work, which combines Basic Skills, GED Preparation, and English as a Second Language classes with computer experience, job search preparation and family management support.
