The First Year and Career Services offer career exploration and advising to Seattle Central students. We can help: - Explore career opportunities, interests, and academic pathways to get there. - Provide academic guidance to first year and undecided students on class selection and potential areas of study. - Develop resume and cover letter writing skills, & prepare for interviews. - Discuss networking, job search methods, and scholarship resources.

Offers services to help participants successfully integrate into the community through employment. Includes employment services, behavioral health services and care coordination. Behavioral health services include psycho-socio assessments, to identify emotional issues, cognitive skills, barriers, and academic abilities as well as counseling, case management and recovery services. Care coordinators are available to assist participants with navigating and integrating their health care and social service needs.

Voluntary program helps DSHS clients find and keep gainful employment. Navigators helps clients access education, employment and training services that are provided by workforce development partners. Navigators also stay in touch with participants for one year after becoming employed, assisting with any needs that may arise.

Our employment and adult education services connect community members with meaningful employment at livable wages and other opportunities to build critical skills. Employment case managers and economic empowerment coaches help set goals and viable steps to achieve them. We also team up with local community colleges and other partners to connect individuals to vocational training, internship programs, and help with job placement.
