WorkSource Spokane houses a resource center called "The WorkSource Hub". The Hub provides the ability to research employers, industries and labor market trends, utilize career software to assess your skills and interests, create and update resumes and cover letters, and post your resume online. The Hub is staffed with WorkSource Professionals who are dedicated in finding your next career.

Provides a one-stop resource of local services to assist veterans with housing, counseling, job search, and mentoring, among other things. Also offers assistance with obtaining earned benefits.

State employment offices help veterans find work by providing free job counseling, testing, referral and placement services.   Veterans are given priority in the referral of job openings and training opportunities.   The Workforce Investment Act (WIA), formerly Job Training Partnership Act (JPTA), provides for a national job training program for veterans with disabilities, Vietnam-era veterans and recently separated veterans. Job training programs may be conducted through public agencies or private non-profit agencies.

Helps veterans transition from military life to a successful civilian life.   Partners with a network of outside agencies to provide a comprehensive program catered to the individual and his/her family.   Services include:  - job placement service and employer networking opportunities,    - skills training including resume writing skills,    - career testing that helps narrow down interests to find a most suitable occupation,  - military to civilian transition mentoring services,    - job retention program,    - agency referral,    - individual and family counseling,    - whole family financial strengthening training including financial education and housing counseling,    - family services including career placement help, counseling, motivation and confidence to find work.   Offers employers who hire veterans services like free placement and screening services, employee job match, qualified applicants and tax incentives for hiring veterans.    Will also meet at the Lacey Veteran's Hub by appointment.

Provides offenders with 50-hour environmental construction training and work force placement allowing participants to re-enter the community. Program also works with: - dislocated workers, - veterans, - new career path, - women in construction, and - background issues. Courses offered include: - HAZWOPER, - confined space entry, - silica, - RCRA, - CPR, - florescent bulb, - mold abatement, - GHS, - OSHA 10, and - rigging, fork lift, and flagging.

Administers the Jobs for Veteran State Grant program, a nationwide program designed to provide assistance to veterans transitioning from one career to another. Provides counseling, resources, employment connections, community partnership advocacy and virtual tools to assist in meeting the veterans’ preferred transitional career goals. Gives veterans and their spouses priority access to WorkSource services, including the following: -  Job listings, job referrals and hiring events for private sector, city, state and Federal careers -  Job coaching for resume, application perfecting, strategies for success, wage negotiations and interviewing assistance -  Use of computers, photocopiers and phones onsite -  Skill assessments and referrals to training and other resources   In addition, the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program provides intensive case management and employment readiness services to transitioning service members, veterans and qualifying spouses with significant barriers to employment.   Local Veterans Employment Representatives Conduct outreach to employers to promote the recruitment and hiring of veterans; partner with Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Commerce to implement employer campaigns to hire veterans and inform federal contractors on process and requirements for recruitment of veterans.

A local veterans employment specialists is available to assist the veteran population. Job referral and placement assistance are provided to veterans.

Assists homeless veterans and their families with emergency, transitional, and permanent housing; as well as employment search assistance, applying for veteran benefits, and referrals to other agencies.

Helps workers who have lost jobs, through no fault of their own, to gain access to federal and state programs for retraining and re-employment. Provides skill and employment assessments that help job seekers in knowing what their skills are and which types of jobs they can potentially qualify for. Veteran Services: Provides job placement assistance, on-the-job training opportunities, and limited job-skills training. Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) maintain contacts outside the office with businesses in the community to do special job development and maintain relationships with veteran service agencies and organizations.

A local veterans employment representative and disabled veterans case managers assist the veteran population.  Job referrals and placement assistance are provided to veterans by the case managers, while the employment representative's focus is on connecting with employers that hire and / or train veterans.

Emergency assistance is geared towards sustainable positive outcomes for eligible veterans. Service officers are knowledgeable, skilled and have relationships with area partners who together with their services will often be successful in forming comprehensive and lasting solutions for clients.

Matches employers to job seekers by providing employment services.   Services include job readiness workshops, job skills trainings, job placement services and job retention services.   Offers these services through direct referral and coordination of city, county, state and federal programs.   Also offers employer services, including screening of potential applicants, supervisory training and outplacement services.   Programs include the following employment services. Not all services offered at all locations:   Community Jobs Initiative (CJI)   Offers paid (minimum wage) internships to job seekers looking to build skills for employment.   Participants must currently receive TANF cash assistance of DSHS - Community Services Office.   This program is implemented through extensive partnerships among state agencies (including DSHS, Employment Security, and the Board of Community and Technical Colleges).    Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Placement Services (DVR).   Provides vocational assessment, internship development, and monitoring and job placement services for adults with disabilities who are referred by DSHS - DVR counselors. Limited English Pathway Placement Services   Offers job readiness workshops, job placement services, skills trainings, and job retention and county wage progression services as well as English language class referrals for King and Snohomish adults with limited English.
