Programs for eligible young adults, adults, dislocated workers, and displaced homemakers. All programs provide career counseling and support to overcome barriers to employment. Employment plans, services and objectives are specific to the individual’s circumstances and needs. Serves Young Adults aged 16-24 with one-on-one career advising that assists with getting into either employment, post-secondary education or both. Serves individuals who have barriers to employment and/or education, including pregnancy or parenting, dropped out of school, lack of stable housing, current or previous foster care, disability, or other barriers that need additional attention when looking for employment. Participants and staff work together to both establish goals for employment and/or education and then break down how to complete the work in bite sized pieces to ensure success. OSY (Out of School Youth) Serves Youth and Young Adults between the ages of 16 and 24 years old and that have a barrier that can include being justice involved, having a disability, pregnant or parenting, non-native English speaker/ESL, lack stable housing, currently or previously in foster care, have basic skills deficiency and low income. Youth also need to be open to receiving regular one-on-one career advising a minimum of once every 30 days and can meet as often as they would like. ISY (In School Youth) Serves youth and young adults between the ages of 16 and 21 and be below the 100% for their household size on the LLSIL. Must have a barrier like being justice involved, experiencing a disability, pregnant or parenting, non-native English Speaker or ESL, lack stable housing, be currently or previously foster care. Also need to be open to receiving regular one-on-one career advising a minimum of once every 30 days and can meet as often as they would like.

Offers tailored career support services, delivered at no cost through the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I funding. Designed to help job seekers achieve their employment goals, these services provide comprehensive assistance across various stages of career development. Key Services Offered: - Resume Writing and Interview Preparation: Provides personalized support to help individuals craft compelling resumes that showcase their skills and experiences. Additionally, offers guidance and coaching to build confidence and excel in interviews. - Job Search Support: Assists participants in identifying and targeting potential employers, navigating job boards, and utilizing networking strategies to secure suitable employment opportunities. - Assistance with Job Search-Related Costs: For eligible individuals, can offer financial support to cover expenses such as certification and licensure fees, transportation, and other critical costs that facilitate employment. - Securing Employment Before Benefits Expire: Works closely with individuals to ensure they find stable employment before the end of their Unemployment Insurance or other benefit periods, reducing gaps in income and employment. - Training Program Guidance and Funding Plans: For those seeking new skills or career pathways, helps identify training programs aligned with demand occupations. Assists in developing practical funding plans to make training accessible. - Ongoing Coaching and Support: Throughout the training process, participants receive continuous coaching and mentorship to help them successfully complete their programs and transition into in-demand careers.

Provides a wide range of employment and training counseling and services for youth, adults, and dislocated workers; including training, education, and support they may need to pursue their career and succeed in the workforce. Programs: - Basic Food Employment and Training (BFET): Training services provide resume writing, interview skills, assistance with starting a career, and job search assistance, BFET provides employment readiness opportunities to Basic Food (SNAP) recipients who are not receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). - Dislocated Worker (WIOA): Services include career transition counseling, tuition assistance, paid business internships, and on the job training. Workers must be laid off due to no fault of their own and eligible for UI (company closure, downsize, skill no longer in demand, etc.). Special funding and programming is available for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. - Low-Income Adult Services: Provides employment and training services to low-income adults ages 18-72, with a priority to veterans, TANF recipients, those who do not have a HS diploma or GED, and those who are not financially self-sufficient. Services include career exploration, tuition assistance, paid on the job training and internships, emergency support and ongoing counseling through job retention. - Youth Services: Offers paid job & career training, educational assistance, (GED, HS Diploma, Post-Secondary), certification & credential options, job search assistance, tuition assistance, paid work experience for youth 16-24 yrs of age, and are a WA State ID holder & resident. The goal is to help youth identify a career pathway and gain the skills they need to be successful in that pathway. - WorkFirst: Provides parents the opportunity to gain job skills and experience through a variety of work readiness programs, such as the Community Jobs (CJ) and Career Jump. - Quality Jobs, Equity, Strategy, and Training (QUEST): connects individuals most affected by the pandemic—– women, tribal members, people of color, people with disabilities, even lower-wage workers—to quality training and employment. Provides information to job seekers about current information on the job market, Unemployment Insurance and provides career guidance. Also offers special programs for veterans of the US armed forces, dislocated workers, and those workers the meet specific low income guidelines. These programs may include retraining opportunities. Helps those with disabilities remove barriers to employment, and helps job seekers learn how to overcome ex-offender issues.

Offers a hybrid course that prepares job seekers for entry-level employment in the tech industry as helpdesk technicians or IT technicians with a career plan. Introduces students to core computer functions, how to manage and maintain a laptop and a desktop, and an introduction to the concepts around system and software applications. 7-week hybrid course offered quarterly at Goodwill's Tacoma campus, hybrid course meets 2 days in-person and 2 days online. Provides students additional lab time with their local training coordinator, and will offer Employment and Financial Coaching through enrollment in Goodwill's Financial Opportunity Center. In addition to a course completion certificate, successful students will be awarded a scholarship to earn their COMPTIA IT Fundamentals Certificate.
