Margie's Crisis Nursery offered at Child Care Action Council
Connects parents with temporary, emergency child care when families are in crisis. Works to assist families when they have exhausted all other options. Families must provide transportation to and from the site of care.
Margie's Crisis Nursery is there for parents to connect them to and pay for temporary, emergency child care when families are in crisis.
Margie's Crisis Nursery is not a place, but a group of early childhood professionals who work to assist families when they have exhausted all other options.
How to Use Margie’s Crisis Nursery:
Call 360-786-8907 x100. Office is open Monday – Friday from 8am – 4pm.
The Margie’s Crisis Nursery Referral Specialist will ask a few confidential questions about why the family is in need of Margie’s Crisis Nursery services, so that they can determine how to best help the family and their children.
This is also an opportunity to refer to other community services that may be helpful. In the following 1-2 hours, the Margie’s Crisis Nursery Referral Specialist will find participating child care providers to locate a placement for the child.
The Margie’s Crisis Nursery Referral Specialist will then contact you with the necessary information concerning the arranged child care.
Please note: participating child care providers receive special training on working with children in crisis, including children with disabilities, but may not be able to meet the needs of every child. Families must provide transportation to and from the site of care and are expected to pick up children as scheduled before closing time of the facility. Most sites provide care between the hours of 7am and 6pm. No overnight care.
