Self-paced literacy learning lab for those looking to learn about hardware, software, Internet, email, Word, online job hunting, Excel and more. Computers are open outside of lab class.

Programs that help develop the cognitive and technical skills needed to best find, evaluate, create, and communicate information using information and communication technologies. To be digitally literate is to be able to creatively and inventively manipulate technological tools to solve problems and express one's self, and is evaluated by an individual's grammar, composition, typing skills and ability to produce digital text, images, audio and designs.

Digital Literacy Programs

Programs that make computers, printers and other electronic equipment available for public use, primarily for word processing, spread sheets and other document development applications. Public access computers can be found in libraries, schools, government buildings, science labs and research centers. Some companies such as Mail Boxes Etc. provide computers the public can use for an hourly fee.

Public Access Computers/Tools

Programs that provide instruction for individuals of all ages who want to learn about or perfect their skills in using computers, computer-related hardware and specific home and business applications including word processing, spreadsheet development, presentation development, database management, electronic publishing and image processing. Included are both introductory classes for people unfamiliar with computers and the Internet and more advanced courses, as well as programs that provide instruction in the use of related technology such as smartphones and social media. Instruction may focus on publishing tools such as blogs, video logs (vlogs), photo sharing, podcasting or wikis.

Computer Literacy Training Programs

Classes and workshops offered through this program include English Classes, Digital Literacy Training, navigating the US Education system, and conversation classes focused on peer mentoring and community building within and across cultural groups.

Family Programs offered at Kandelia at Seattle World School

Offers Classes and workshops, can include English Classes, Digital Literacy Training, navigating the US Education System, and conversation classes, focused on peer mentoring and community building within and across cultural groups.

Programs that offer opportunities for non-English-speaking and limited-English-speaking adults to learn listening, speaking, reading and writing skills with an emphasis on developing the level of communication competence that is essential for adults who are living in a setting in which English is the primary language. Also included are programs that provide English language instruction for younger people.

English as a Second Language

Programs that offer the services of  volunteers who have admirable qualities of character and are willing to serve as role models for youth who are troubled and at risk for delinquency, adults who are disadvantaged by poverty, health conditions or other problems or other special populations who need the friendship and support of a peer to improve their personal and social functioning. The volunteers are usually of a particular age, gender, cultural background or other status that clients can identify with.
