Examples may include, but are not limited to: - Visit with the person receiving care to allow caregiver personal time - Companionship, a walk, a listening ear - Help with light home chores, gardening, shopping, special projects - Assistance to ensure favorite events and activities don’t fall by the wayside Program does not provide personal care or health care services. Volunteers are not trained for toileting, bathing, transferring, administering medications, or feeding care recipient. However, they are available to ease your time in other ways, such as reading, conversation, and companionship with your care recipient, running errands and helping with household or yardwork projects

Kitsap Home Care Service is an offshoot of Kitsap Tenant Support Services. Provides help to elderly people, children who are disabled in any way, and disabled adults. Assists people with essential shopping, cooking, laundry, personal care, hygiene, medication treatment plans and may accompany the client to medical appointments.

The Aging and Disability Resource Center provides support to unpaid family caregivers through information, support, and services. Can assist with connecting to local resources and services, education and training opportunities to increase caregiver skills, provide free assessment of caregivers stresses and burdens, and help develop a plan of care to help the unpaid family caregiver thrive while caregiving.

IVC connects neighbors facing challenges related to aging, disability, or adversity with volunteers and resources to support independent and fulfilling lives. With the help of our caring volunteers, IVC provides help with transportation, errands and shopping, meal preparation, chores, respite care, companionship, and cultural and recreational activities.  IVC primarily serves Bainbridge Island residents though surrounding areas sometimes are served.  Island Volunteer Caregivers meets needs not filled by local agencies and provides free services for older adults and persons with limitations.

The Caregiver Support Center offers an opportunity for unpaid caregivers in Kitsap County to meet with a case manager to learn about what type of support is available to them and discover print and online support materials of interest, at no cost. The case manager, with the Family Caregiver Support Program can assist unpaid caregivers with exploring programs and services that best suit their needs and provide referrals to appropriate programs. Based on each caregiver's situation and availability of services, the program may also provide no-cost, limited in-home respite care (a break for the caregiver), counseling, home delivered meals, training, help with power of attorney forms, and purchase small assistive equipment.

Provides comprehensive in-home, non medical services to maintain a quality lifestyle and independent living. They have respite care for caregivers, and in-home assistance for people who need help with their daily life activities. Services may include meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation to medical appointments and to do nutritional shopping, as well as personal care, running errands, household repairs, moving assistance and more. Catholic Community Services is offering a free in-home assessment.

Provides services to support and sustain unpaid caregivers who are caring for: - an aging parent, - ailing spouse or partner, - disabled adult child or - friend suffering from a debilitating illness. Services include: - information, - respite care, - professional consultation, - housework and errands, - bathing assistance, - assessment, - minor adaptive equipment, - comfort therapies, - counseling, - and support for relatives raising children.

Provides relief for eligible families or other unpaid caregivers of disabled adults (ages 18 and over). Respite services are provided in-home (from companionship to skilled care), in adult day centers, and out-of-home residential care.
