Nurse led postpartum group incorporating mindfulness and movement in Kitsap County. Includes walking activities for new families to get outside in nature, explore mindfulness, meet other new parents, and get their questions answered by a nurse and bilingual Spanish speaking community health worker.

Provides programs and services for youth, teens, and families that span a range of activities for all generations designed for fun in a safe, caring, and welcoming environment. Includes designated times for families at the YMCA. Individuals can participate in programs that meet the needs and interest of individuals, or have fun at special events. Services include: fitness center, swimming pool, teen center, group exercise classes, basketball, racquetball, water exercise classes, and personal fitness program. Also offers health and wellness programs, such as group exercise, wellness coaching, adult sports, aquatic, lifeguard certification course, and cancer survivorship rehabilitation.

Offers credit classes which provide family life education for parents, and supervised preschool experience for their toddlers and older preschool-age children.  The class sessions vary in length and frequency depending on the age of the children and the program offered.  Parent education class topics include nutrition, child development & guidance techniques, home management, etc.

Parents as Teachers Partners with parents to support their child’s growth and development. Twice-monthly visits focus on learning through play, understanding the stages of child development, helping through the inevitable challenges of parenting, and supporting overall family well-being. Kaleidoscope Play & Learn Also offers weekly, bi-lingual playgroups. Parent Cafe's Playgroups include open play time, art projects, structured movement or song time, stories, parent support/coaching, and time to connect with other adults. Welcome Baby Boxes Gives parents essential supplies for their new babies. The baby box includes a sleep sack, washcloths, a Vashon onesie, and a hand-made quilt, along with parenting books and a Thriftway gift card. Clothing, diapers and some baby supplies are also available.

Facilitates play-centered classes for toddlers and their parents based on developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate brain development. Developmental screenings are available. Part of Snohomish County Parks and Recreation's mission is to provide inclusive recreational opportunities for people with diverse needs and interests. Some recreation programs are carefully planned according to the participant’s age and abilities. If you or your child would benefit from accommodations, please be thorough when filling out the required participant profile, so that staff can provide the best support possible.   Some participants may benefit from visiting with the staff and becoming familiar with the setting at Willis Tucker Center prior to the start of a new class or program. The Recreation Specialist encourages visits with family and interested participants prior to registration.

Offers a wide variety of free services, including the following: - Parenting classes (twice a year) - Workshops (cooking classes, CPR classes, youth programming) - Playgroups for ages birth to 5 plus their caregivers, with English and Spanish playgroups available - Advocates available for assistance with resources and systems navigation - Community Closet for free children’s clothing, toys, books and more. - Diaper Bank (current waitlist) - Free monthly Family Field Trips to locations like the Aquarium, Zoo, and local museums.

Offers supportive services for parents and caregivers to build loving bonds with their children preparing them for healthy futures. Essential Needs: - Provides diapers of various sizes, wipes and formula based on availability. Can receive additional supplies every 30 days. - Provides clothing sizes newborn to 2T every 60 days. Takes up to two business days to fill order. - Offers other essential items every 60 days such as Baby bathtub, stroller, highchair, etc. based on availability. Parenting Classes: - Circle of Security teaches parents to identify, understand and respond to their child's emotional needs. The 8-week course is offered quarterly for caregivers of children aged six months to five years. - Baby Care 101 is a course providing expectant and newly parenting caregivers education and tools to learn how to care for their new baby. - Toddler Care 202 is an interactive parenting series that covers child development, nutrition, sleep, potty-training, and more. - Also offers an interactive music class for children ages birth-5 to attend with their caregiver. Pregnancy and Parenting Support: Offers a weekly drop-in social support group for moms with children up to age 5. Childcare is provided. ​Offers parents the opportunity to have parent support, goal setting, and community resources to help them be the parent they want to be with support from our compassionate circle of security-trained case manager. Families with children ages 3-5 can access Education Support to work on kindergarten readiness. Adults may receive ESL support. Matches with an experienced mentor who’s been through the challenges of parenting. Receive one on one mentorship, non-judgemental support, guidance, and friendship. Facilitated play groups provide access to high-quality early learning opportunities to thousands of children who are not currently benefiting from formal early learning programs. The majority of Washington children under five are in the regular informal care of parents family members, friends, or neighbors (FFNs), and do not attend formal child care programs, especially children in communities of color, low-income families and refugee/immigrant communities. Increasing access to high-quality play groups will strengthen our ability to support all families in this critical phase of child development, and get Washington closer to its goal to have 90% of children ready for kindergarten when they enter. Facilitated play groups support early brain development and kindergarten readiness: play group curriculum is based on the latest research in early childhood brain development and family engagement; play groups give parents and informal caregivers a free, accessible place to meet other families and get support; and sessions are held weekly in community spaces in the child’s own neighborhood and language.
