Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County provide a year-round, building-centered, positive and safe place for all kids, helping them to acquire skills and develop qualities necessary to make the right choices and become responsible citizens and leaders.  (Affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America) Activities include: sports, arts and crafts, health and life skills classes, education and career development classes, character and leadership development classes.  Call for details on specific activities, classes, field trips, and planned events. Each day, Club members are given a variety of activities and programs to choose from. The Club offers enriching games, academic support, time to play with peers, an array of programs, and positive adult role models focused on supporting the developmental growth of youth. Provides administrative services for Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County. Nearly 3,000 youth in Thurston County access on our Clubs in any given school year. They find safety and support during out-of-school hours and school breaks at one of our five Thurston County Club locations in Lacey, Olympia, Rochester, Tenino, Tumwater, and Yelm.

Provides citizenship and leadership programs.  The Lipton Award is given to young adults who demonstrate courage, perseverance, challenge, fraternity and integrity through their participation in athletics and in daily life. Youth of the Quarter honors a club member who has demonstrated leadership qualities, club involvement and community service. Health Adventure program for youth in eighth grade allows participants the opportunity to experience jobs in the healthcare field and work closely with an adult role model.

Offers programs including cooking, robotics, SMART Girls, Dude Time, Magic Club, Film/Book Club and tutoring.  Teens awards may be offered to teen Club members who have exhibited outstanding leadership and citizenship skills in school and at the club.

Offers programs that develop leadership and citizenship skills.  Also offers Torch Clubs, which are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11-13.   Torch Club members elect officers and work together to plan and implement activities in four areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.   Torch Club awards are presented annually to Torch Clubs with outstanding programs and activities in all four areas.  Also offers Keystone Club for members in grades 9-12.   Teaches skills and values to be used as they continue to mature.  Activity planning, fundraising and community involvement are stressed in bi-monthly meetings.

Provides an after-school drop-in center for teens. Activities at the center include indoor basketball, volleyball, badminton, dodgeball, indoor soccer, DJ multimedia, foosball, ping pong, video games, movies, martial arts classes and an art lab with painting, drawing, coloring and carving activities.  Also offers a computer lab with tutoring and homework help. Serves as a site for the YouthForce job training program.

Offers after-school programs with fun and valuable programs and positive role models. Provides quiet spaces to accomplish homework and exercise mental fitness with plenty of books and games. Teaches young people about the benefits of developing good habits such as eating smart and being physically active.
