Connects individuals with counselors for emotional support and other services via text and online chat. Veterans can chat with a veteran crisis counselor by texting 838255 or using the veteran chat form.

Programs that provide an opportunity for people who are emotionally distressed to have one-on-one Internet chat room sessions with people who are trained in supportive listening and crisis intervention. The objectives of the sessions are to defuse the immediate crisis, ensure the person's safety, and assist the person to take the next immediate steps toward resolving the problem.

Internet Based Crisis Intervention

Programs that offer text-based services that allow people who are troubled to share their concerns with a counselor or trained volunteer who can help them cope with a traumatic experience or other type of crisis, a difficult relationship or make adjustments that are required in their particular stage in life. Text based services are particularly suitable for people who are concerned about confidentiality and anonymity and are frequently used by troubled teens who are coping with school pressures, breakups, bullying and the stress that comes with trying to fit in.

Text Based Counseling Services

Offers same day in-person and virtual (video) visits for children and teens in Washington state who need urgent mental health support but do not need the services of an Emergency Department. Our team of pediatric-focused licensed mental health therapists, family advocates/case managers, psychiatric advanced practice providers (APPs) and medical assistants provide crisis assessment, initial care recommendations and referrals to follow-up care in the community.

Psychiatric Urgent Care offered at Seattle Children's Magnuson Clinic

Offers same day in-person and virtual visits for children and teens in Washington state who need urgent mental health support but do not need the services of an Emergency Department. Provides crisis assessment and referrals to follow-up care.

Programs that utilize a variety of means to evaluate the mental or emotional status or functioning of people who may be experiencing acute or chronic disturbances. Diagnostic techniques may include observation of the person's behavior, interviews with the individual and significant others, psychological testing as indicated, medical examination, assessment for psychotropic or other medication, and the formulation of an appropriate, ongoing treatment plan which may include voluntary or involuntary hospitalization.

Clinical Psychiatric Evaluation

Programs that provide an opportunity for people who are emotionally distressed and/or for their significant others to meet face-to-face with someone who has been trained to assess and resolve the immediate crisis, if possible, and to link the person with appropriate resources for ongoing assistance.
