Women’s Hearth is a drop-in day center in downtown Spokane–a safe space for women who have experienced poverty, trauma and/or homelessness to find a “hearth” of welcome, respect, and community. Women’s Hearth provides activities, classes, social service referrals and housing-search case management in a compassionate and supportive environment 5 days a week. Participants also have access to phones, computers, internet, healthy food, hygiene supplies, and showers.

HarborCrest’s ADIS is an informational class that is approved by Washington State to educate clients on the dangers of the use and or misuse of alcohol or other drugs. This class encourages participants to engage in effective decision making and focuses on the reduction of returning to habits that endanger not only their lives but also the lives of others. This class provides accurate information about alcohol and drugs to aid clients in developing a plan to help them make changes in high-risk substance use behaviors.   ### The Course consists of:   - Evaluating That Participants Are Responsible For The Choices They Make   - Empowering Participants to Change Their Behavior   - Enhancing Awareness Of Consequences Of High-risk Behaviors   - Recognizing the Diversity Of Its Participants In Terms Of Their Relationship To Alcohol and/or Other Drugs, Experiences, Family, Culture, Education, And Motivation to Change   Existing Attitudes and Behaviors.  Class runs from 8am-4:30pm on the second Saturday of the month.

Drug/Alcohol Assessments Conducts an evaluation of people who abuse drugs and/or alcohol to determine the nature and extent of the problem and which may make a recommendation regarding treatment or may refer the individual to a specific program. The service does not include a centralized triage function within the community or a formal relationship with the courts.   Alcohol & Drug Information School State-approved instruction fulfills legal requirements for individuals court-referred to attend an Alcohol Drug Information School (ADIS). The educational, 8-hour course provides students with valuable information about alcohol and other drugs. Students are encouraged to explore the effects of alcohol and other drug use on themselves, their families and their world.   DUI Evaluations Provides a court-ordered assessment of individuals who have been convicted of driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol to evaluate the severity of their problem and make a recommendation to the court regarding appropriate treatment.   Outpatient Treatment Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires fewer than nine hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development). Length of service can be anywhere between six months to two years depending on the needs of the individual and/or court order.   Intensive Outpatient Treatment   Provides outpatient substance use disorder services that usually requires 9-20 hours per week of attendance, which may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development).   Counseling Provides counseling and mental health services to Apple Health (Medicaid) patients. This study is conducted by Washington State University for people 18 years or older and want to cut down or stop using alcohol. Behavioral intervention called contingency management is used, in which participants receive gift cards for attending their telehealth appointments and providing blood samples consistent with a reduction/abstinence in alcohol use.
