Benton County Emergency Management (BCEM) is a division of Benton County Emergency Services. BCEM works to minimize the impact of disasters on the people, property, economy, and environment of Benton County through comprehensive disaster planning, preparedness education, training, and resource coordination. BCEM prepares for and responds to both natural and man-made disasters. Natural hazards in our area include floods, wildfires, and ice storms. BCEM planners also prepare for emergencies at the Hanford Nuclear Site and Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station.

During disaster situations, government agencies such as the Small Business Association and FEMA stand by to assist. There are many different programs which can support the affected homeowners, businesses and governments however, there are certain monetary thresholds which must be reached for damage to homes and businesses before they are authorized to provide aid.    It is essential for **EVERYONE** who received damage from the flooding and/or the landslides to complete a preliminary damage report.  When you fill out the report, you are assisting everyone affected by adding your damages to the total.   Remember, the possibility of receiving assistance from government programs **CANNOT BE GUARANTEED**, however the more businesses and people who report, the closer we arrive to the threshold for assistance.  Renters and homeowners can begin to report damages on the form at this link. http://www.co.grays-harbor.wa.us/departments/emergency_management/index.php  * If you have trouble finding your parcel number or determining the % of market value on the damage reporting form, skip the area and send the report anyway. The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management is constantly in the process of preparing and updating comprehensive plans for responding to emergency situations. These plans are developed in conjunction with our local, regional, state and federal partners and affiliates. Following are our key emergency plans to guide us through the four stages of emergency management - preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery.

Provides public safety services for life and property in Stevens County including prepare, prevent, response, mitigation, and recovery. Coordinates rapid notification of hazardous and urgent situations through the use of phone calls, texting and email messages.

Spokane County Emergency Management is the coordinating agency for the whole community during major emergencies and disasters.

DEM is responsible for emergency management within Island County to include planning and coordinating actions for the mitigation, response to, and recovery from natural and man-caused emergencies and disasters.  DEM provides hazard information, coordinates and provides emergency training for county residents, and emergency responders.  DEM also operates the county Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when it is activated.

A regional public safety service agency that provides 911 and 311 public safety dispatching and law enforcement services, emergency management, and safety radio system operation and maintenance. Offers sign-ups for public alerts, abandoned vehicle reporting, and requests for public records.

The goal of Mason DEM is to strengthen the County’s ability to readily, effectively, and efficiently mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all types of natural and man-made emergencies/disasters, including but not limited to earthquakes, windstorms, floods, wildland fires, acts of terrorism, and man-made/technological hazards. The department provides support to County agencies, regional partners, oversight and management of emergency communications, disaster response training, development and implementation of emergency plans, and conducts local and regional exercises.  Offers information about disaster preparedness, neighborhood programs and disaster awareness presentations.  The center gathers, analyzes and distributes information; serves as the central hub for coordination of response and recovery activities; manages resources; and provides a link between local and state governments. After a disaster, call to report the extent of your damages or loss.

Coordinates Ferry County's disaster response, including wildfires and other natural hazards. Coordinates an alert system that sends information about emergencies or other important community news. Alerts are sent based on their geographic location.

Works with Washington State agencies to plan, equip, train for, and practice our response to emergency situations. Kittitas County updates and maintains the County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.

Provides emergency management activities that are divided into four phases; mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Assists with the following: - Activities in the Mitigation Phase work to "eliminate or reduce the chance of occurrence or the effects of a disaster" - The Planning Phase addresses how we will respond to a disaster in our community - The Response Phase is the time spent immediately after an incident occurs that we are providing direct assistance to the community - The Recovery Phase runs from the end of the Response Phase until activities are back to normal

Serves Grandview, Granger, Harrah, Mabton, Moxee, Naches, Selah, Sunnyside, Tieton, Toppenish, Union Gap, Wapato, Yakima, Yakima County and Zillah.
