One-stop emergency preparedness center includes safety tips and regional resources for assistance agencies, as well as information about the following during the winter:   -  Weather -  Heavy rains and flooding -  Freezing temperatures -  Power outages -  Road conditions   -  Transit   Raises community awareness of hazardous weather and helps protect lives and property.

Provides officials in Lewis County the ability to quickly deliver an emergency action notification message to give citizens specific life saving information such as evacuation and shelter in place for localized and countywide emergencies. Lewis County Alert can communicate time-sensitive messages via telephone, e-mail and text messages. Subscribers only receive notices regarding the events that threaten their area. Households can list multiple numbers/email and the message will go to the first number/email provided. If there is no response, then the system will go down to the next number/email on the list.

Represents and advocates for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities in order to advance the empowerment, inclusion, and wellness of all persons with disabilities. - Emergency Preparedness: Provides emergency preparedness for disabled individuals by creating a plans in case of a disaster. Helps with fire drills, emergency planning, connection with local EMS, and building an emergency kit. - Assists individuals or veterans who are needing to find caregiver and helps with making sure their caregiver gets paid. Must be referred by the VA, if they are a veteran; if they are a civilian, then they'll get help finding a state-funded caregiver. - Has a Covid -19 Advocate that works with individuals with disabilities to help them get a schedule for vaccines, as well as a covid-19 peer support group. - Assists with Power Action Systems (PAS program), which helps individuals with disabilities be able to get modifications to their household to make it more disability accessible.

The goal of Mason DEM is to strengthen the County’s ability to readily, effectively, and efficiently mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all types of natural and man-made emergencies/disasters, including but not limited to earthquakes, windstorms, floods, wildland fires, acts of terrorism, and man-made/technological hazards. The department provides support to County agencies, regional partners, oversight and management of emergency communications, disaster response training, development and implementation of emergency plans, and conducts local and regional exercises.  Offers information about disaster preparedness, neighborhood programs and disaster awareness presentations.  The center gathers, analyzes and distributes information; serves as the central hub for coordination of response and recovery activities; manages resources; and provides a link between local and state governments. Provides for planning, coordination, and response to hazardous material and natural, man-made, and nuclear disasters.  Provides coordination of emergency services including police, fire, medical and welfare services; communications; chemical and other special weapons defense; evacuations; transportation; temporary restoration of public utility services; and other civil protection.
