Also offers an opportunity for seniors to use their their skills or gain new ones by volunteering doing projects that assist their local communities. - Volunteer Chore Services: basic in-home assistance for low-income seniors and disabled adults of 18 and older to help continue to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their own homes. Services may include local transportation for appointments and errands, yard work, light housekeeping and laundry, snow shoveling, minor home repairs, wheelchair ramps, and wood provision. - Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP): provides a retired and senior volunteer program (RSVP) that is designed for seniors over the age of 55 who want to use their skills or gain new ones by volunteering doing projects that assist children with needed school supplies and toy drives, food collection and delivery, critical services to elderly, and filling the gaps for critical needs in local communities. - Senior Companion Program: senior companions provide support to isolated elders and persons with disabilities by helping with companionship, grocery shopping, answering mail, and other daily tasks that are essential to maintaining independence. Senior companions may qualify for a small stipend and mileage reimbursement if income eligible, to offset their expenses while they help those most vulnerable.

Maintains a searchable website listing of farmers markets across Washington state.   Website indicates whether the farmers market accepts SNAP, WIC or Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits.   Contact information is also provided for each farmers market.   To use an EBT card at a Farmers Markets, go to the Market information booth, tell the staff how much money you would like to spend, and they will swipe your EBT card for the amount you request.   Users will then be given tokens for the amount to buy fresh produce and other foods at the Market.   Some farmers markets participate in the SNAP Market Match (and Fresh Bucks in Seattle), which matches a certain amount of SNAP with tokens or other market currency that can used to buy fruit and vegetables at the farmers market. Amount varies by farmers market. Participating markets are located in several counties throughout the state.

Manages state assistance programs that help participants pay for attendant care and non-care related assistance services designed to help older adults and people with disabilities remain independent.   Assistance may be provided in any of three settings:   -  Participant's home   -  Assisted living facility -  Adult family home   Community First Choice -  Provides attendant care and non-care related assistance services to older adults who would otherwise require nursing home placement    -  Program participants can choose from whom they receive care services, including hiring family members as care providers     Community Options Program Entry System (COPES) -  Generally provided to clients who are also enrolled in Community First Choice   Medicaid Personal Care -  Provides personal care services for clients who do not require nursing-home-level care   Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) -  Offers all services through one provider.   -  PACE can be funded either through Medicaid, Medicare or private-pay.     New Freedom -  Participants manage their own service plan and budget and take primary responsibility for obtaining services.   Medicaid Transformation Demonstration Medicaid Alternative Care (MAC) - Supports unpaid caregivers of Medicaid recipients over the age of 55 Targeted Supports for Older Adults (TSOA) - Supports older adults over the age of 55 who do not receive Medicaid  Participants enrolled in one of the in-home care programs may also qualify for other forms of support including assistive technology and personal emergency response systems.
