Transitional housing is available through Miryam’s House, where nine women experiencing homelessness are encouraged down the path to recovery and stability through case management and life-skills education. Life at Miryam’s House includes wrap-around supportive services, one-on-one case management, life-skills education, and continuing support for residents through an Alumnae Program. Women eligible for housing are homeless.

Offers a healthy alternative to living on the streets or in shelters. This Center's program is designed for adults who sincerely want to exit homelessness and find permanent housing and employment. This program requires work on an individual's part so that he/she can change their life. In addition to housing, food, and overnight lodging, The Salvation Army supplements those services with the support needed to move on in life.

An emergency shelter and transitional housing facility for homeless families. 18 units for 3-5 family members. Case management, laundry, children's play areas, individual storage closets, and private bath.

Volunteers of America’s Transitional Living Program provides support for up to twenty chronically homeless. Referred primarily from Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) these individuals deal with co-occurring issues of mental illness, substance use, and often also physical ailments.

Helps youth ages 16-25 gain employable skills and work history by partnering with with businesses willing to help mentor, teach work ethics, workplace conduct, and develop hirable job skills.  Program provides 100 hours of on-the-job experience, case management, and a variety of incentives.  Participants also attend weekly classes and workshops which teach skills including resume writing, interview skills, financial management and customer service.

Permanent supported housing for formerly homeless of Whatcom County with several behavioral health needs.

Provides a short-term housing intervention program for low-income veterans and their families experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Veterans and their families can be assisted with housing through case management, pending eligibility. If eligible, assistance and support may include move-in/rental assistance, eviction prevention, benefits support, employment and education services, legal aid around housing barriers, and other expenses that may support stable housing. Must be willing to work with a caseworker. May require clients to be alcohol- and drug-free. Assistance in any of these programs depends on availability of funds.

Provides wraparound services to people living with mental illness. Works with clients or to maintain stability in the community and meet recovery goals. Teams consist of nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, vocational counselors, peer support staff and SUD counselors who meet frequently with clients to provide treatment and support in the safety and comfort of their homes or in the community. Connects clients to educational opportunities where they can finish their GED or go back to college. Also provides employment support to help them find full- or part-time work. Offers individual therapy, case management, SUD services, medication management, and therapeutic groups.

Permanent Supportive Housing programs serve very low income individuals and families who have been chronically homeless and who have physical, mental health and/or chemical dependency-related disabilities. Facilities include Maloney Heights and Evergreen Family Village in Port Angeles, Sunbelt apartments in Sequim, and Burke Place in Forks which is operated by Peninsula Housing Authority and has units for families as well as individuals.

Partners with various housing organizations in the community that provide prevention service, rapid re-housing, transitional housing and permanent supported housing through HUD/VASH.   VA Puget Sound Community Housing staff also participate in area events to help connect with veterans experiencing homelessness.

Kateri Court - Offers 40 units of studio and one-bedroom apartments in Bellingham for low-income households at or below 50% of the area median income. Offers Permanent Housing Single Studio Apartment, fully furnished including welcome basket of kitchen accessories like pots and pans, towels, linens and bathroom accessories. Open to both chronically homeless men and women. Absolutely no sex offenders eligible. Mandatory Case Management Program (meet at least once a month) geared to work towards saving money for moving cost and rent, gain income, help residents reach personal goals. Available facilities accessible to permanent housing members include: washers and dryers, handicap roll-in shower, recreational rooms, nurse station for non invasive health care, counseling programs, computers and transportation is provided to food banks, doctor or dentist appointment, community kitchens, or any business within 150 mile radius that isn't accessible by public transportation.
