- approximately the last $300 of rent,
- approximately $300 towards the utility bill,
- food,
- bus tickets (for medical appointments and job interviews, and starting a new job, not to school) and
- limited prescription assistance.
Assistance is dependent upon donations to the church.
Also accepts donations of vehicles. Vehicles are sold, and the proceeds donated to the church so they can provide financial assistance.

Washington State law and the Kitsap County code have established the Veterans Assistance Fund as a steady source of tax dollars to be utilized for the needs of indigent veterans and their families. A portion of property tax collected in Kitsap County is earmarked for the VAF. HEN can only guarantee monthly payments 90 days at a time.
