Protective Payee Your case manager has referred you for protective payee services. A plan was developed by your case manager and sent to your payee.  This may include;   Money Management training   Bills will be paid according to your plan.   Remaining funds are distributed weekly.  Representative Payee Your Social Security case manager has referred you  for Representative  payee services.   Budgeting   Checkbook Balancing   Bill Paying   Getting Started After your paperwork is complete sit down with your payee to agree on your budget.  You and your payee will need to go to the bank to make arrangements for automatic deposit.  Set up a schedule for when you will meet with your payee and when you will get your checks.  You will be required to choose days and times available to pick up your checks.  Program participants are required to meet with your payee a minimum of once a month.  Maximum visits should be once a week and scheduled in advance with your payee.  Confidentiality is strictly upheld and your personal financial situation will not be discussed with anyone without your signed written approval.  Transfer to another payee or termination of services will take up to two months to complete to clear & process checks, bank and legal documents.

The Representative Payee Program is a service that helps clients budget Social Security Administration (SSA) benefits. Through this program, local service providers will work with the client to budget their benefits to help them pay for food, shelter, clothing, and medical care. Benefits of the program include learning how to set up a monthly budget, setting up a savings account, and gaining control of finances.

This fee is often covered through Medicaid programs and may not directly impact the participant. Ability to contract with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide Legal Fiduciary Custodian Services. The VA determines which individuals require assistance in managing their benefits, contracts with Share and Care House, and issues the benefits to Share and Care House on behalf of the individuals. Trained Specialists work closely with VA Field Representatives, Care Providers, Social Workers, and the clients served in setting up budgets with the goal of meeting their basic needs, stable housing and beyond. These guidelines assure the client's basic needs are always met.  LWC’s payee establishes a budget with each client and assists in educating and assisting in money management to ensure financial stability.

Offers representative payee services for veterans and family members who are incapable of managing their own financial affairs as determined by the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs and/or Social Security Administration. By assuming custody of the individual's finances, the department ensures provision of basic needs, such as housing, food, clothing and medical care.

Individuals who are receiving government assistance, such as Social Security (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Need Families (TANF), may also receive help from Goodwill in managing their monthly finances. Goodwill is authorized by federal and state agencies to receive the checks and in turn make payments to landlords, utilities, and others.

Offers financial management services for DSHS, SPIPA and Social Security recipients having difficulty managing their own finances. DSHS recipients are referred directly from DSHS. SPIPA clients are referred directly from SPIPA. Social Security recipients can contact AM directly to set up an appointment and go over the budgets, as well as AM's rules and expectations.
