Instruction is individualized and classes are held in a variety of facilities.   GED Classes Classes help improve reading, writing and math in order to pass the GED test. Classes are also held in Spanish. Highline College is a testing center certified to administer the GED test through the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education.  Individuals 16 years of age or older may earn a certificate of educational competence with a satisfactory score on the General Educational Development test.  Arrangements for taking the test may be made through the Testing Center. Special testing arrangements for students with disabilities are available.   High School Completion Offers students who have had their high school education interrupted an opportunity to earn their High School diploma through Highline College.  Must be age 21 or older.

Collaborates with partner school districts across the region to meet the unique needs of the students, and connect them with educational, training and job opportunities. Many students are working on their GEDs, and can work with staff in figuring out the next steps for education or training. Staff work with students to re-engage them in the educational process, remove barriers to education, and prepare students for the next stages of their life. Can help students access transportation, emergency food, housing, clothing, and helps with GED testing, college placement testing and certification classes.

Basic computer skills are required. - Beginning Internet: Teaches how to use the Internet for job search purposes. No computer experience necessary, however Keyboarding and Mouse class highly encouraged as a prerequisite. - Beginning PC Skills: Computer tutorial to help gain speed and confidence on a computer. Will teach how to manipulate a computer and create a document, as well as how to improve typing speed. All levels are welcome. - Mock Interview: Teaches valuable interviewing tips and provides the opportunity to practice frequently in a supportive and realistic environment. - Resume Critique: Provides resume critique and assistance from an employment specialist. Must have an electronic version of your resume, either on a flash drive or within/attached to an email. Must have two job descriptions of jobs you wish to apply to.
