Homework Assistance Programs offered at King County Library System
Offers homework assistance through a designated website, live chat help, live homework help using online classroom plug-in and in-library tutor service. In-library tutoring is available at library branches throughout King County.
KCLS offers homework assistance in several ways.
Study Zone: Volunteer tutors provide free homework help at KCLS libraries.

- Advocates can help access services based on unique situation & need, such as transportation, phone cards, obtaining a State ID, food banks, DSHS benefit applications, and job search.
- Housing support may include housing search, referral to a shelter, temporary housing, or rapid/immediate housing, depending on the client's circumstances.
- Refers to Okanogan Behavioral Healthcare or online counseling for mental health support.
- Connects clients to criminal/legal support and services, such as defense attorneys, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, or Northwest Justice Project.
- Parenting support includes baby items, free books, referrals to child services, and more.

Helps prepare low-income Seattle youth for post-secondary education through tutoring and leadership development. Offered in 9th & 10th grades at Garfield or Rainier Beach high schools. Must be first in family to finish college.
Helps prepare low-income and/or first-generation Seattle high school youth for post-secondary education through academic instruction and tutoring, academic and personal counseling, life skills and leadership development, career exploration and planning, college application assistance, financial aid workshops and college tours. Also requires a six-week summer academic program at Seattle University with high school credit available.
