KCLS offers homework assistance in several ways.    Study Zone: Volunteer tutors provide free homework help at KCLS libraries. Computer Lab offers computer skills classes and open usage for Club members in grades 1-12.  Project Learn is a hands-on tutoring and mentoring program available in schools.  Homework, field trips and higher education activities are available for grades 1-12.

Works in partnership with Kent Meridian and Rainier Beach High Schools to offer year-long after-school academic programs to all newly arrived refugee youth in high school. Classroom Assistants and students meet weekly to complete homework assignments, tackle the senior research project, and complete important college application paperwork, such as the FAFSA. Time is divided into classroom instruction, individual and group work, mentorship, educational workshops, and access to scholastic resources.   Both sites feature Classroom Assistants who focus on assisting students as they participate in academic activities to improve their reading and writing skills and increase their knowledge of college and career readiness. The program strives to provide the information, resources, and access to opportunities to meet and exceed grade level standards, while completing high school graduation and college application milestones in order to graduate on time and with plans to pursue post-secondary education. Also provides opportunities for students to participate in civic and community engagement projects to build their leadership skills as well as to complete service learning requirements for graduation.

Includes the STEAM program, which gives students a safe and fun space to socialize and develops life skills on- and off-site. STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

The program's goals are to increase student academic achievements in: math, reading, English, science, students’ engagement and commitment to school, health/fitness and nutrition awareness, technology, arts, music, theater, and robotics. Provides before and after-school sessions Monday through Friday who are in need of support with homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring.  Parents bring children to the before-school session and return in the evening to pick up their children. Children are transported to and from Beacon Hill International and Kimball Elementary schools by van and they participate in academic as well as cultural activities.

We offer a diverse schedule of in-school and after-school programming designed to support the social and emotional development of our young participants, as well as their educational growth. From academic support to programming that strengthens positive identity and awareness, our programs help our youth reach their full potential. After-School is held throughout the school year.

Provides college preparation programs for low-income, first-generation students in grades 6-12 in the Tacoma, Franklin-Pierce, and Bethel School Districts. Services include study skills development, tutoring, mentoring, college visits, assistance with college admission and financial aid, career development, cultural enrichment and SAT/ACT preparation.

Helps prepare low-income and/or first-generation Seattle high school youth for post-secondary education through academic instruction and tutoring, academic and personal counseling, life skills and leadership development, career exploration and planning, college application assistance, financial aid workshops and college tours. Also requires a six-week summer academic program at Seattle University with high school credit available.

Staff and trained volunteers provide distance and in-person small group instruction in reading, writing, math, High School + diploma, GED, and/ or academic skills upgrade to prepare for training, college, or work.  Students' goals and priorities are incorporated into instruction. Digital literacy and employability skills are incorporated into instruction. We offer in-person, hybrid in-person and distance, and some distance options. We serve out of school youth age 16yrs and older. If you are under 19, you must have a signed release from the HS or district where you live. We work to provide individualized study plans along with small group experiences in order for students to get a full range of support and encouragement to be on the path to their education, work, and life goals.

The Community Resource Center is an accepting and supportive place for teens in the Stanwood Camano area to gather after school and participate in a variety of activities and clubs.

Coordinates a yearlong achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students.   Recruits students annually and conducts annual Academic Olympic competitions for students in 9th-12th grades in NAACP Branches throughout the country.   First place local winners then compete with youth from other cities at the National ACT-SO finals held during our National Convention. Includes 26 categories of competition such as sciences, arts and humanities.

Offers volunteer opportunities assisting students in grades K through 3rd with one-on-one reading at Kennewick Elementary Schools. Tutoring will be two times a week for 30 minutes and will get to follow along with one child through the year.
